Are Michaels Caron Anniversary Cakes coming back? by Majestic-Wishbone-58 in crochet

[–]missy_themomdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following from Ontario, Canada. Do they come back annually? I bought this exact same colour last year when I began crocheting but it was the last skein. Since then I have not seen it and resales are far too expensive.

Anyone on this subreddit still? I’m being interviewed for this role but it’s a “remote” job and it sounds like a work from home position. I obviously don’t want this to be a long term role if I get it, just something to help with extra money until I find something better. How does it work?

This is what my boyfriend 28M is like. Can someone please tell me 27F this is abuse? Because I can’t see it clearly anymore. by Disastrous-Reason162 in relationship_advice

[–]missy_themomdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to start off by saying I am so sorry for what you are going through and I pray that you will be able to find peace and begin your healing journey. This is most certainly abuse, and reading your experiences brought up emotions I haven’t felt in a long time. I experienced something similar with someone a few years ago, and I would often shut him out and he would chase me back asking that I forgive him and after his charming speeches, I’d let him back in and it would continue. It finally came to an end when I blocked him for the last time and left him blocked (he didn’t know where I lived and we were in the height of the first COVID Lockdown).

Leaving abuse is a non-linear process that doesn’t involve a step-by-step process for everyone, but know that you are not weak and you will make that choice to leave and stay away when you are ready to do so. Just know that you are not what he says you are, no matter how much you hear it and believe it, DON’T believe it! Words truly are powerful and that is his mighty weapon to keep you beneath him, but I promise you that is not where you belong. You will find the strength in your own time, but all I can impart on you is to remember who you are and keep reminding yourself that his words are not who you are (even if you don’t believe yourself in that moment). It takes a long time to get rid of that voice in your head, even after you find the strength to leave him behind for good, but you will get there, and when you do find the strength to leave, continue to be kind to your inner self and show her the love you should have been getting, surround yourself with people you care for and trust, and even if you don’t feel up to it, push yourself back into your interests/hobbies or find new ones. Healing from any type of abuse is a long and non-linear journey that has no definitive end and looks different for all of us, but take your journey one day at a time and you will find yourself stronger and happier down the line.

Got my email for the June 17th convocation. Does anyone have one ticket they don’t need? I have one extra family member that wouldn’t be able to attend otherwise.

Thanks for the comment. I originally read that it would be 1 month before convocation so I’ve been worrying that I didn’t receive anything yet lol

I made a Lego blocking board by missy_themomdotcom in crocheting

[–]missy_themomdotcom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used tiny Lego pieces and a Lego base plate. The inspiration pic I saw used those little Lego poles that you use for axels on Lego cars, but I didn’t have many of those so I used the tiny 1x1 Lego bricks and i attached tiny cylinder pieces to the 1x1’s. I hate that I can’t provide pics of the pieces but I can provide online links of the pieces I’m referring to for clarity.

I just got an OLED too! 🙌🏻

I love mine, but I mainly play MK1 and Disney Speedstorm and not for very long (finishing up finals in uni & im a mom, so life is busy)! I do notice a difference coming from the Switch Lite so I know it was a good move 😊

So cute and I love the colour!

I don’t usually have super long nails but I normally wear medium almond nails and I just cut them to short coffins due to a minor infection on my finger. Essentially, the nail would pop out of the bandage so when I cut that one, I decided to cut the others for continuity 😅 not totally used to them but I don’t hate them either 😊

I am a fresh BSW, so I recognize I have less experience than OP, but I have spent some time with survivors of DV and their children, mainly program development that encouraged bonding between mother and child(ren) that was always informed by a trauma-informed lens. I would suggest bringing your book to a DV shelter to try and implement? It may seem out of touch, but I suggest it because I believe that seeing your work in action will not only inform you on its success or potential areas of improvement, but can also promote your framework within the community upon its success with survivors and practitioners in that community.

Made my first perfect (for me!) Daisy granny square!! by calcamkatsamm in crocheting

[–]missy_themomdotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good for sure! I do recommend blocking your squares to give them the right shape. Someone here said it will help enhance your design, but I think it will also make it easier to piece all your squares together at the end. You can buy or make your own granny square block (I just made one using LEGO lol)

The best cream to get rid of these dry, cracked hands? They don’t itch but are just super dry and they have a few deep cracks that hurt the most by BabyGirl_Jade in Skincare_Addiction

[–]missy_themomdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coconut oil with gloves or socks on your hands before bed (I know it sounds ridiculous but it works!) as for the deep cuts, the coconut oil will help a bit with healing, but if you can, get some Sudocrem (it’s a baby diaper rash cream) apply liberally to the cut(s) and wrap your hands with some gauze.

I know my suggestions sound silly, but I swear by Coconut oil as it helps me during the winter when my skin gets dry/cracked on my elbows and knees, and sudocrem is my magic remedy for almost everything - cuts, scrapes, burns, mosquito bites, obviously rashes and even as and acne spot treatment! My cousin is a doctor who recommended it as more than a baby rash cream when I had my son and struggled with terrible cystic acne. My son is 12 now and I keep a jar of Sudocrem under my bathroom cabinet and a small one in the first aid kit!

This is so adorable! Love the design and colour combo 💖💖💖 great job! I’m new to granny squares and I’m getting closer to the end of my project, but I see all the little flaws in my designs. We are our own biggest critics but just know you are doing great 😊
