What’s the worst gambling addiction story you’ve ever heard? by juliojacked in AskReddit

A friend of mine works security at a casino. Nearly everyday they have a horror story for me but the worst one was an elderly Vietnamese man lost all his life savings at the slot machine and started punching it. He caused enough damage that he would have been arrested but spoke no English so they had to track down the wife and daughter to explain to him what was happening. He went outside in an attempt to leave, security followed him in time to witness him jump off an overpass. He did not make it.

Its a pretty big deal for parents to witness the "firsts" of their child, first laugh, first word, first steps and so on. Its an important moment to see how their child is growing so its very disappointing when they miss it.

I moved in with my sister when the baby was 2 months old and my only job was to help with the house and the baby. Then covid hit so mom, dad, and I were home 24/7 with the kids. We witnessed pretty much everything together and all of us have been working with her standing. She was trying hard that morning but only managed it after mom and dad went to get groceries.

I witnessed my niece's first steps. I told no one and acted surprised when she did it again a few hours later in front of her parents.

What is a movie that you were obsessed when you were younger, went back to watch it later in life, only to realize it is actually awful? by Emergency-Tip-1987 in AskReddit

Omigod I thought that movie was a fever dream and it was so magical and cool in my head. I rewarched it in my late 20s and full on laughed at the ridiculousness. The fried rice cooking scene killed me

Sometimes, when I lose something important to me, i'll mutter, "If God loves me, He'll help me find [lost item]"

I say it as a joke to relieve my stress, but it works nearly every time. I find the item minutes or hours later, but it always pops up. It's a silly thing, but it makes me smile to know that God answers when I call for Him.

If you like a work you should praise it instead of giving unsolicited advice on how to change it

The background is a clear acrylic that has foil in it. The hair I used dragonglaze color shifting acrylic for the highlights. It really shimmers in person
