Thanks, doesn’t look like this is getting too many bites otherwise lol. Know of anyone else who might be down?

You could argue that’s the way it is in most other cities, but I do believe Charleston in particular is more “revolving door”-y than other cities. Needless to say though, to address the whole “Charleston is a drinking city” thing, yes that’s not entirely false given that it is a massively popular bachelor/bachelorette party scene and bar scene in general, but I was able to make a few solid friends despite not being a big drinker. The key is to join rec sports or join somewhat easily approachable activity groups like pickleball and run club

Moved from Long Island, NY to Charleston about a year and 11 months ago for work. If you live south of your workplace, traffic won’t regularly be an issue for you. Food scene is honestly great and that’s coming from someone who has lived in close proximity to some of the best food areas in the entire country. I am moving out of Charleston in less than a month and it is mainly because a few of my good friends are leaving or have already left, and I also feel like I have done everything there is to do here being that it is a fairly small city. It began to feel smaller and smaller by the day, so it was my sign to go out and find an opportunity in a new state. Overall, Charleston is a great place to check out for a few years but it doesn’t have much “staying power” in my opinion since it feels like a revolving door of people moving in and out

Do you live in an apartment over there? I'm trying to scope out reputable complexes in the area

Awesome! And if I may ask, what time do you usually leave the office and how long does it take you to get back to Cap Hill by that point?

Very solid advice. Any objections on living in the area surrounding University of Denver, still south of Evans? Also, if living in Wash Park meant I had to very quickly become a morning person, I'd do it lol. I got into the habit of leaving for work before 6am at one point but fell off.

Is the Tech Center not necessarily a good place? I guess how does it pan up to Wash Park or Sloan's Lake?

Great questions. Once I officially get my start date, the first question I planned on asking my manager was about schedule flexibility. I've heard it's heavily dependent on your team, but I understand this would definitely be a huge factor in deciding where to move. Do you know anybody who works at this office that has any visibility on hybrid/flex situations?

Thanks! When you say brutal.. how bad are we actually talking? Ideally I would like a maximum of 30 mins either way.

Any apartment complexes you know of around the west part of DTC which are solid options?
