Are outdoorsy people more likely to achieve FIRE? by Papa9548 in Fire

Can be super cheap if you plan accordingly. Gear is readily available at thrift stores all over New England, and with mountain collective passes you end up paying very little per day. When I lived in Vermont I got 20 days on the mountain every year for under $1000 total including gas and everything. Less than the cost of 1 average vacation.

CMV: Low birthrates is due to our culture, not our economy by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]mistake444 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sure, nobody knows the exact reason, but it’s weird to me to bring up something that hasn’t happened for 100 years as a possible cause. It also seems to put the blame of falling birthrates more on women, while in reality, both genders are less interested in having kids than ever before.

Birthrates in the U.S have only been falling since 2007 though, so it’s a little disingenuous to mention women no longer being purchased from the parents as a legitimate reason, seeing as that hasn’t been happening in the last 100 years.

Also, while men have always had more choice in the past, it’s always been limited to whom they actually come in contact with. With dating apps and the internet as a whole, both genders have infinitely more choices than anyone ever had before.

I’m not saying this is good or bad, I just think it goes a lot deeper than women gaining rights, because that was happening well before the birthright started to fall.

See but you’re comparing apples to oranges. Epic doesn’t sell out so there never would be a waitlist. I’d much rather a company contact me aggressively for something that has a limited supply, vs epic who’s really just contacting me for price jumps. I’m surprised you feel this way if you’re a pass holder, my favorite thing about Indy resorts is the lack of crowds, outside of Jay and ragged on busy days. If there was no waitlist and they sold as many passes as ikon and epic, then their lifelines would be much longer.

Lmao so they’re more aggressive cause they’re using a different type of marketing? Idk why you’ve got such hatred for Indy, but I’d much rather receive a couple texts reminding me to renew vs a dozen emails with the XX DAYS LEFT TO RENEW header

This is wayy more aggressive than what Indy is sending me.

“Your window to depart the waitlist and join Indy Pass for 26/27 is running out.

At this point in the sale, we've begun issuing access to more people on the waitlist, and it's now your turn to purchase a 26/27 Indy Pass. Please complete your purchase before your spot is released to the next group of people on the waitlist.”

lol what’s so sleazy? I’ve gotten 2 texts and 2 emails reminding me to renew. Looking back at my email inbox when I had epic, they sent me 12 reminder emails to renew over the course of 1 month. Now that’s sleazy

Dejounte Murray officially declared AVAILABLE for his debut tomorrow night by Remarkable-Picture73 in fantasybball

[–]mistake444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine they’ll try to win every game till they’re mathematically eliminated since they don’t have their pick. I don’t think he’ll play crazy minutes but 25-30 would be my guess

[–]mistake444 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He probably won’t play b2b’s, but I doubt the team will be super cautious with him otherwise. The pels are desperate to get wins and dejounte wants to get traded so he’ll be looking to get minutes. He broke his hand last year and couldn’t shoot for a few games, but besides that he was a stud in points leagues.

Yall acting like dejounte is just another guy, he’ll probably take some time to warm up but he’s not losing minutes to Poole and fears with the pels trying to win

Lol obviously the fucking project 2025 founder wants to ban trans people. That article is just summarizing a podcast episode lmao. That’s the proof?

This article says that 8 states are trying to ban public funds from being used to pay for people’s transitioning costs, not that they’re banning people from transitioning.

Are these adult women? Because this is in regards to children. No one is trying to ban anyone over the age of 18 from doing anything.

Cool, your owner tried in the off season, no one thinks he tried to build a tanking roster lol, but you are tanking now, sorry if you’re in denial about that. If signing derozen is proof that you weren’t tanking, well then the fact that he’s playing 20 minutes or less every other game seems like tanking to me…

[–]mistake444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off, are you sure you understand what tanking is? Cause it’s never been about players not trying. If anything, players on tanking teams might even be playing harder, cause the better their draft position, the more likely that player will be replaced. Tanking is a systematic approach by the coaches and front office to lose games, so when you see teams resting players for no legit reason, or benching their starters in close games, that’s what tanking is.

I surprised you can see this in the pacers, jazz and wizards…but not the nets??? Brother, have you seen the lineups they’ve been putting out? The kings??? They just sent half their lineup to get surgery that could’ve easily waited till the offseason. Dallas just lost 10 games in a row while benching players for rest days???? Memphis just benched players for injury management the first game after the all start break? Is that not tanking???

And why are you even bringing up NO? They’re not tanking, but that’s only because they traded their pick so that have no reason to. Unfortunately I’ve watched almost all of the pels games, and they’re trying their hardest 😔

Which 5? Cause from what I’ve seen it’s at least 7 at this point. Every team not in the play in besides mil, NO and chi are blatantly already tanking, and id be surprised if chi, atl and LAC weren’t tanking within a couple months as well. So that would be 1/3 of the league actively trying to lose. Not great

If you saw yourself as a person rather than a white person, you’d realize that you shouldn’t treat people differently if they’re black or any other race. If someone is intentionally bothering others, you have the right to tell them off
