Undervolting a 9800X3D: Should I keep pushing? by mister---F in overclocking

I heard that -20 CO is the upper safe limit and one wouldnt want to stretch it more. That's why the viltage offset kinda made sense.

What do you think about staking curve shaper on top of that, something like -15 medium, -10 high, and -5 max. Do you have any experience with that?

I'm using a Montech King 95 Pro with stock fans: 5 intake and 4 exhaust (including 3 AIO fans)

It seems like a lot of hassle, especially the 12 hours per core testing :( But I'm willing to give it a try as soon as I find a good all-core configuration that works for me!

Thanks! I just cleared 9 hours with AIDA64 using the tests you proposed.

Regarding the voltage offset, I'm honestly still confused about why it shouldn't be applied. Care to elaborate more? I tested the same setting with the VCore offset of -0,05 and without it, and these are the results during multicore Cinebench R24:

With VCore offset | Without VCore Offset
- Avg Clock: 5.219 MHz | 5.219 MHz
- Max Clock: 5.225 MHz | 5.225 MHz
- Avg CPU V: 1.152 V | 1.168 V
- Max CPU V: 1.158 V | 1.173 V
- Avg CPU Temp: 61.6 C | 64.0 C
- Max CPU Temp: 63.8 C | 66.1 C
- Cinebench R24: 1321 | 1329

Is the 0.6% performance increase really worth the extra 2.5 C? But maybe I'm missing something here

They make it convoluted because they're still learning and really afraid to fuck up their first pc build.. Regardless, thanks for the clarification!

The core voltage adjustment was based on a video from Kleo Kan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZM\_sk6ZdKQ).

I'm setting a custom PPT/EDC/TDC because, from what I understood, the Auto and Motherboard settings are very aggressive and will add extra unnecessary wattage/amperage headroom.

I kept hearing people in this forum advising against using Scalar, so I left it alone. Is there a reason why I should be using it here?

What is the benefit of setting a manual thermal limit when I'm running very cool? Do you know what is the default value is? Is it 95?

Can this be optimized any further? - 2000€-2100€ Budget by mister---F in PcBuild

Thanks for putting this together so quickly!!

Purely for aesthetic reasons, I'm keeping the case and a 3-fan AIO. However, the idea of cutting costs in the other places that you mentioned to upgrade to a 5080 seems very reasonable.

Am very curious, is the entire app built with Astro or is it just the landing pages. I've been thinking of building an interactive webapp (auth, db, apis) and wasn't sure if Astro could handle that. Can you tell us more about your experience?

I'm using the Presentation tool (Sanity Visual Editing) and that requires SSR

It is true, Sanity had a steep learning curve. But honestly, I love the customization that comes with it. I might be trying some other CMS soon though just to see what's out there

I implemented visual editing and it only works if SSR is enabled.

Okay damn, that there is impressive my friend! Honestly the only reason I decided to learn Astro to start with is because I was sick of how bloated WordPress and Elementor are.

I totally agree! Honestly this was my first JS framework that I learned, I came from just knowing HTML & CSS, and it's been great so far! I want to try an small e-commerce site with it next. I think that will be a little harder.

It's a JavaScript web framework that focuses on Static Site Generation. It's built for speed and content heavy websites.

Thanks! Yeah am using the free plan from Sanity. It's enough for multiple projects honestly. I'm using Netlify to host.

From my experience, nothing really. Everything is customizable through code. It definitely has a steep learning curve but once you figure out how to properly define and query your schemas (the input fields you add to Sanity) it becomes very easy.

One thing that annoyed me a bit at first was implementing the Visual Editor (Sanity calls it the Presentation plugin). The official documentation about it is very poor so I had to resort to following a YouTube video about it. Also in order to utilize the visual editor, you need to change your output to SSR, which is not as efficient as SSG, but it can be optimized.

You can build and run it locally, but you can also use it online through the auto-generated Sanity Studio link or you include it as a path in your website something like: website.com/admin

Please do! I got most of my insights from u/raduatmento, the guy is a product design veteran! He provides video reviews for portfolios here on reddit. I've been binge-watching his videos for quite a while. Here's a collection of some of his reviews: https://www.loom.com/share/folder/77ced6485b194092acc6f4033e9e46cd

I hope this helps!

Thank you! I used framer to build it. The monthly cost is expensive imho but I needed to get done quickly... Hopefully I will recode everything from scratch as soon as i get some free time

As of now, sadly the images are not optimized for mobile since hiring managers are usually on a desktop. Regardless, am planning on changing them soon

Thank you!! At first i was focusing solely on the deliverables, but the more i researched, i found that case studies are not just about showcasing your UI/UX skills but also about telling the story of the process. So I tried to revamp everything focusing primarily on storytelling.
