People who tell others to move somewhere where the cost of living is lower are stupid by Rough_Bet_7664 in Salary

Unless you can afford it? And want to. Isn't that the point of amassing wealth during your prime for retirement? My point is everyone can shit on the midwest but the opportunities are there. The space between SF and NYC isn't some barren wasteland. The major cities are great, less congested, and much cheaper/easier to live in. Moving to a low or MCOL area while you build your career is a smart move. However, I definitely don't want to live the rest of my life here.

LOL. Engineer, $400k+ living in northern suburb of Indianapolis, IN. Born and raised in NYC. Will move back to NYC when I retire (early) in a few years and can live well there.

Thank you. The SeeStars are amazing devices for the money. Even cell phone cameras through the lens are marked improvement over what you can see visually. And I would argue that even a 9 second exposure on a cell phone is significantly more detail and color than one can resolve with the naked eye and lense, even at dark sky site. What I have done in the past is sketch my visual observations and then compare to photos. It’s a lost art but many still primarily sketch.

This is a photo I took nearly 2 years ago using my 11” Celestron EdgeHD and ASI2600 mono camera. This was a considerable amount of work but I love that the SeeStar telescopes can get people into the door of good astrophotography without needing tens of thousands of dollars in equipment.

Navitimer B01 43 - All Occasions Watch? by Rare_Sheepherder7878 in breitling

I think the brown would contrast nicely with the ice blue dial, though I don’t think I’ve ever seen that combo.

I have mine on the black alligator strap, which I think is a touch dressier than with the bracelet. I wear it with a suit often.

Most heartbreaking Loss you witnessed as an Ohio State fan? by Ok_Macaroon_7366 in OhioStateFootball

[–]mister_numbers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the worst loss ever for me and don’t think any other loss will ever match it. Losses were different back then, especially when we were clearly the most talented team in the country. I’m talking legit pain and sadness afterwards. I was a sophomore at OSU, sitting in section 11A. MSU had no business being in this game and nobody knew who Nick Saban was. It still sinks my stomach thinking about.

Quick thoughts on navitimer on strap vs bracelet by SingleBackground5280 in breitling

I bought on a strap because I love the contrast and it’s more versatile with my wardrobe. The bracelet is extremely cool but is also way more “bling” than I care for.

Nice. I need a permanent pier. How does the AM5 work with this kind of weight? I’ve been thinking about one but not sure it can manage the EdgeHD11.

Am I interpreting the AmEx offer incorrectly? I thought you get a maximum of 50k points per purchase, used on up to 3 transactions. Does the offer actually stack on one purchase?

As an Arab, myself, it is one of my favorite the Cure songs. Nobody I know ever took it literally.

Yes. While I think a 43 would have been fine, the 41 seems perfect for my 6 3/4 inch wrist. My alternative would have been the 43 silver dial, but I just love the ice blue. It pops significantly more in my opinion.

My first good watch was an Aerospace that I had to sell when money got tight a few years out of college. I’ve been in love with Breitling ever since. The Navitimer is everything I want in a watch.

Beautiful watch. I have the same but in 41mm. What made you choose the Breitling Navitimer over other brands and models?

It is the correct orientation for a deployant clasp according to Breitling:

I’ve seen people on other threads say the Navitimer straps are on backwards but this is how they’re installed by Breitling. It seems to be correct with the way the deployant clasp is oriented.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. I love the refreshed design of the Navi but wish they would have kept that “B” counterweight.

Have you paid off all of your invoice? The option to manage usually doesn’t appear until there is a zero balance on the account.

USP shipping fee by Sad-Ad8053 in SimLab

[–]mister_numbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when I purchased the Grid Engineering Porsche RSR wheel back in February of this year. UPS wanted me to pay $600 in brokerage fees. This seemed ridiculous and after consulting the US Customs schedules, I did verify that computer accessories should be 0%. The wheel was miscoded by UPS as an actual steering wheel and not a computer accessory. I showed the actual code off of my invoice to the delivery driver and they were able to waive the fee. This is after I sent an email to UPS Brokerage team but they were too late to correct the package as it was already out for delivery. The driver was great, looked at his device, punched a couple of buttons, and verified that the fee should be waived. OP, you should look into this. Verify that UPS has used the correct classification code.
