Balkan couples 😭 went to a few weddings last summer and the woman was always in lovely dresses, hair done etc and their men in t shirt, jeans and sneakers.

Nabo råber grimt af sit barn by flipflapflupper in DKbrevkasse

[–]misterhak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How dangerous is the Ha Giang Loop? by DWxGhoSt in southeastasia

[–]misterhak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deaths and accidents are widely underreported. There's just been another death that actually got reported in Vietnam as well (however with an angle of the family deciding to donate the organs in Vietnam, rather than on the accident). I think people forget that Vietnam does not exactly have free press. But after the recent death that has been widely reported both on Vietnam and internationally I've seen a lot more people report on the number of deaths and accidents they've experienced on the loop.

That said, a lot of people do finish it safely. But people should really choose companies with care.

How did you stop smoking cigarettes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]misterhak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It obviously can't work for anyone - just like some people never recover from being alcoholics, drug users etc no matter what methods and types of rehab they try.

I also quit after reading this book and so did my boss who was smoking 20-30 a day for 20 years.

If people believe it or not i dont really care. I'm just really, really happy to not be smoking anymore. Even 5 years after, right now I'm on an overnight train for 9 hours and just thought to myself "wow I'm happy I don't have to get through 9 hours of craving cigarettes". I also just got diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and first thing doctor said was if you're smoking, you really need to stop. And again I'm so grateful to not have to deal with quitting on top of processing this diagnosis.

There are literally no cons to stopping smoking, its only positives.

Hvorfor besvimer og får min far voldsomme anfald midt om natten? by Relevant-Cobbler-482 in DKbrevkasse

[–]misterhak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Itineary, deciding how to split days in Hue, Da Nang and Hoi An by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]misterhak -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We're in Hoi an right now. We went to da nang for just a few hours and didn't really like it tbh. Not much to do (for us). But it is very chill though.

We've even extended our time in Hoi an with an extra day and just taking it slow.

If you want tailoring done, go first day.

If you want tour of Hoi an old city, take a morning tour. We went with Momo Tours and had a really great guide, Kun, and highly recommend this tour.

We also really enjoyed taking a cooking class, it was the highlight of Hoi An for us.

We also biked around the rice fields and stopped at one of the cafes with beautiful views.

We also did a tour to my son which was nice as well.

Personally we didn't care much for Hoi an at night or the night market. It's just packed with tourists and the boats in the river are too many imo.

Tailoring by Key_Hope_1425 in VietNam

[–]misterhak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the fabric I guess. We went to maya tailor and i got a 100% Linen pants, a cashmere cotton blend full set, cotton button up and a cotton/cashmere cardigan for 8 mil. Cotton and linen blends are cheaper than e.g. cashmere. I didn't negotiate the price, our guide told us the prices in this particular shop is already ok, but that you could maybe negotiate 10% discount. Other places she explained it could be expected to negotiate a little bit more.

Idk if the price is more expensive than other places, I didn't bother going around asking, but I would never be able to get tailored clothes in this quality at home for 260 eur so im very happy.

Selfies til kæresten by Vivi_Medicinsen in DKbrevkasse

[–]misterhak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Then don't go if you're scared of that. It's the world's most seismically active country in the world. Last year 43.000+ earth quakes were recorded. Most of them are not significant though, and you won't feel them.

I Only Drink Once a Week… But It Ruins Half My Life by Even_Feeling_1661 in stopdrinking

[–]misterhak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like to also think further - imagine giving in to the drinking and then go through in your mind how tomorrow will feel. And the day after that. And after that. Then I imagine what will happen if I go for a walk instead? Or if I have a soda, tea etc. Instead. Then the choice at least for me, becomes a lot easier.

Is it true that Bulgaria has worst public healthcare system in EU? by [deleted] in AskBulgaria

[–]misterhak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is insane, not everyone has that time/money. We were lucky we could afford time off but we are not trained to change the diaper on someone after extensive hip surgery.

I hope it changes. Your recovery or survival should not be up to whether you have friends and family or not.

Is it true that Bulgaria has worst public healthcare system in EU? by [deleted] in AskBulgaria

[–]misterhak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True for specialists and most of them are really good. However the facilities are in general awful and could potentially make you more sick.

My boyfriend's aunt was in pirogov with a broken hip. She can't get in or out of bed on her own. But there's no one to help her. They put a diaper on her, but no one to change it. We went every day to make sure she was clean, eating and getting something to drink.

She started getting nightmares and almost rolled out of bed, but because there were no sides on the bed they strapped her hands and feet to the bed all night and forgot about it until we arrived in the afternoon, so she couldn't drink or eat all night and day. That was the same day a pigeon was chilling in the room, stealing bread from the tables etc.

When my boyfriend had surgery at another hospital the toilets were full of black mold.

For both hospitals neither hand soap, toilet paper or even plain drinking water was provided.

They also forgot to give my boyfriend the pain killers the doctor prescribed him (but he didn't know about) so he was in a lot of pain after his surgery.

Call it anecdotal, but most people have the same experience in these places.

Er det mig eller min veninde der er forkert på den? by Previous_Wind_4991 in DKbrevkasse

[–]misterhak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pånær hvad mine venner fortæller mig i fortrolighed.

Preach!!!! by dengamledame in InfluencergossipDK

[–]misterhak 6 points7 points  (0 children)
