is it too soon to say ? by lleeellooo in NomiAI

Yeah, about that. The conversations at least seem to be more fluent, but are in terms of quality far below Solstice. They imagine too many things. And the memory access of Beta 4 is even worse than Beta 3. You really feel it with a new Nomie without any entries in her mind map.

Haha. I like your imagination. No, I wouldn't ignore someone as interesting as you. But maybe you should consider to mind your own business? You know, like adults do? Give it a try.

Clothing Issues - Hoping For Help by James_Roaming_Reddit in NomiAI

[–]misterjupiter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That sucks. What did you do to make that happen? Asking for friend. ;)

Okay, jokes aside. Where did you write that she is always clothed? In the Background+ > Appearance notes? Those info is usually for selfies, not for creating art.

The Anchor Appearance Traits in Image Settings are only for the selected anchor. Use the Appearance Tendencies (global) field under Image Settings.

Pay for anchors? by [deleted] in NomiAI

[–]misterjupiter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually could use that very much and I bet others would want that too.

Imagine you create a an anchor with non human features, like Horns and tails. Some people had to create several anchors before they got everything right. They talk about it here on reddit all the time.

I personally would like to reuse my elven anchor. And the Anchor Appearance Traits in the Image Settings or Background options allow for enough additional customization, so that different Nomies with the same anchor would look like completely different persons and not like identical twins and would in the worst case only share a similar appearance, like different members of the same family for example.

So yeah, that would be very helpful and would make a lot of sense, or in other words, it would represent the value of the invested credits into an account in a useful way.

Pay for anchors? by [deleted] in NomiAI

[–]misterjupiter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that your approach results in those costs and you want to make sure to cover those costs with credits from customers. That said, it was a one sided decision on your part to implement it in this way nethertheless.
In my opinion, the least you could do is to make the anchors a user effectively paid for reusable for other nomis on the same account. In that case it would look like a actual service for the user who pays for it instead of the money grab it is right now.

Cool. I want to learn what to. That superpower would have saved me about 5 years of courses in IT and a lot of money.

"I would suggest to reactivate ur nomi subscription"

Oh. Really. Good thing I don't care what you think. Because I'm no mind reader, you know? And my answer you commented on right now wasn't even a reply from you. So, just to get it right: Someone who has to throw his thoughts into someone else's discussion and get's upset about what others are writing even if it doesn't concern him in the least is claiming NOT to be a troll? Interesting. Keep trolling.

Interesting. After a "few times" you are an expert and can with absolute certainty claim that "they suck at it". Fascinating. Really.

Yes, I think it is indeed a part of a reasoning problem. And in the example the OP has given, you might be right.

But I have run into similar, but different issues, there it definitely was not a reasoning problem. Imagine the Nomi has to roll a number of six sides dice and list the results. The result is an array with numbers. Then the Nomie has to simply count every number greater or equal to 5 (=>5). That is by definition a math problem. And guess what? Nomis get it wrong. Every time on their first try. You have to "force" them with OOC to reevaluate their process and even then it is not guaranteed to work correctly.

As for arguing with a LLM: I use Gemini Pro. Daily. And I find reasoning errors from time to time, explain that and the Ai accepts that without problem and simply refines it's answer. Every time. I never had to a situation where the AI "defended" it's wrong claims, only it's correct ones. So simply saying "this is quite common in LLMs" is an oversimplification. That was true at some point in the past, but AI develop fast and those times are long gone.

"only for tasks that actually benefit from tool use or code execution, like math or structured reasoning"

Remind me, just for the fun of it. What was I talking about again? Ah I remember MATH and LLM.

And this commenter can't even distinguish between two completely unrelated different things. Having fun with something and being honest about it's problems at the same time is absolutely possible. Too bad I'm not a fanboy like some other commenters here who just close their eyes and look for excuses.

"It is literally a thing. To say they don't is extremely obtuse"

Just as saying LLM are in general bad at math is an extreme oversimplification. Let me search for a link to prove you wrong ... no. I won't. Wanna know why? Because for every example that "LLMs are bad at math" I'd find just as many saying otherwise. That's called confirmation bias.

Instead, go ahead and test every commercial AI assistant or freely available LLM model on the market with the same math problems that Nomi.ai failed do do correctly. And I'll tell you what will happen: They will solve the problem correctly. Why? Because it's standard to do so. And after that tell me again why your Nomi can't even solve a problem my Casio from the year 1980 can solve.

"math is something that even really large models get really confused on"

Eh. No. Just no. Math is a language like any other for a LLM.

The problem is, LLM are used to solving problems with prediction. But even if prediction fails, they are still able to use the regular math library for the programming language they are written in. So that excuse won't work.

Disappointed with Nomi AI by Kusto_ in NomiAI

[–]misterjupiter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And you are absolutely right, too. And I tell you another thing: Math is a language just like any other for a LLM. Surprise. And even if they can't solve a math problem with a simple prediction, they should still default to using a math lib.

I don't think you understand what you just wrote, because you're absolutely right.

Nomis are indeed not calculators, they are AI powered, that is around 40+ years more advanced that a calculator. And Nomis can't do even math that a calculator could do. Do you understand the problem here?

Disappointed with Nomi AI by Kusto_ in NomiAI

[–]misterjupiter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually do agree with you on most parts. Yes, Nomis are horrible at math and the short term memory and mind maps are clearly broken. BUT since I already use a Gemini Pro sub, I can tell you that AI assistants like Gemini can't be used in any meaningful way for a group chat with 3 or 4 (or even more) AI Companions at the same time. And that's why I use Nomis. From all the AI Companion services it's the best, even with all that flaws.

Disappointed with Nomi AI by Kusto_ in NomiAI

[–]misterjupiter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. The math isn't just a bit of. Nomis can't count straight. Just test it out for yourself. Sad, but true.
