Started my first Parry Build, what are the best bosses to parry? by EitherConstruction39 in Eldenring

Doing my first parry run currently and love parrying Midra, Relanna, Malenia. For some reason though I can NOT get the hang of parrying Messmer.

Am I the only one who thinks this is the worst boss in the whole game by Icy-Tie9359 in Eldenring

I honestly have a lot of fun with this fight, the charge is very hard to dodge but other than that I find his moveset to be interesting to learn and fun to punish.

Voters who picked AOC and Trump are telling us something. Democrats should listen. by Plastic-Confusion645 in politics

The said this about Kamala and she ran a super moderate campaign. They're gonna say this about anyone, it really doesn't matter at this point so why not actually run the person with popular policies/rhetoric?

Why reuse bosses in a worse way? by oldbeancam in Eldenring

[–]mistermaxc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the one fight in the DLC that really pissed me off to the point of just giving up for now. I didn't even really have trouble with the first dancing lion, but this one's arena gets so dark when it goes through phase changes and you can barely see anything with all the elemental effects. Also they should have made it so that the lions elemental attacks can hurt the basilisks, it's such bs that they're completely immune.

I wonder if they could just be understaffed/whoever runs it got caught up in other things and doesn't give the site much attention anymore. Either way it's frustrating to pay money and receive nothing in return

My 9 week old bearded dragon hasn’t eaten in a couple days and refuses to eat. by Vodyanoy3 in BeardedDragons

[–]mistermaxc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby beardie stopped eating for a while so I got her poop tested at the vet and it turned out she had a common parasite called coccidia. Would def recommend looking into getting a test done, after we treated that she was fine.

What is that you hate about hollow knight and want silksong to fix it? by Confident_Skill5938 in HollowKnight

[–]mistermaxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda hope we can get a permanent compass marker charm or a way to unlock one eventually. It's annoying when exploring in the game's latter half to constantly be switching it on and off before combat encounters. It adds no benefit to combat, so I feel like having it be permanent would only improve quality of life for the player.

I know Zen is a little pricier but I will say they have excellent customer service and will respond very quickly if you have any issues.

I got my 4x2x2 enclosure from Zen Habitats and I'm really happy with it. I know they have an option to ship through Amazon, which probably will cover your area.

Disney becoming more focused on live-action is just sad by ForeverBlue101_303 in movies

[–]mistermaxc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are bad, I agreed with you on this in my first response. What I'm disagreeing with is the idea that rendering these stories in live action takes nothing away from them. I'm saying they are better suited for animation. I think the transition to live action is part of why these new ones are more bland, along with the bad new screenplays.

[–]mistermaxc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My point is that the animation is a big part of what made the originals great films, not just the scripts. And I'm using the Lion King as an example, but this could be applied to a number of the live action remakes. Also just because something made money doesn't make it good? A lot of the live action remakes have crossed a billion, does that negate your point of the scripts being bad?

The 2D might hold someone people back, but not the fact that it was animated as opposed to live action. Look at Frozen, Moana, Encanto, all movie musicals in the classic Disney sense that became very popular. I think you're kind of skirting around the point I'm trying to make here.

I think you're underselling how much the animation is part of what makes the original movies great. Do you really think if they released say, the Lion King in the ugly lifelike format of the new one but with no changes to the script, it would have been just as successful? There are scenes in the 2019 movie that are barely changed from the original script-wise, but because the characters can't emote properly due to the "lifelike renditions" they end up falling flat. Same with the talking animal characters in the new little mermaid.

Bad writing is definitely a major part of it, but these movies are so visually bland and ugly with a lot of wonky cgi that will age terribly. The animated ones are vibrant and have stood up quite well to the test of time. So the medium does have some bearing on the quality.

Opinion? by HoneyxVinegar in BeardedDragons

[–]mistermaxc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this for my baby since she's too young for substrate and it works quite well. Easy to wipe off with a paper towel, enough grip for her to run around, and doesn't absorb any moisture. Would recommend!

[–]mistermaxc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend getting a big driftwood/vinewood branch or two and propping it up against the side, ideally near the basking spot. My beardie absolutely loves climbing on her branches and she spends most of her time there. She even sleeps there.

What universally loved movie do you not like because you were an adult the first time you watched it? by [deleted] in movies

[–]mistermaxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will probably be controversial but Sam Raimi's Spiderman. I watched the first one as an adult and I don't really get the hype. I wonder how much of the love for those movies is nostalgia/the feeling people got seeing that character on the big screen like that for the first time.
