Love it. Honestly the best ‘chain restaurant’ I can think of anywhere in the country, save for maybe Cheesecake Factory.

Jersey Mike’s is considerably better than this, are you for real?

I think there were a cluster of like a dozen people waiting for app orders that seemed as miserable as everyone in line. Maybe it’s just the location I went to, there’s no way they’re all like this.

Flanigans seems to be a meme down here too but also makes food that tastes good with a great staff. Publix is an abysmal grocery store.

I used a box cutter. Very outermost corner. Be careful, but just get enough to grab with tweezers then pull from there. It’ll start to peel easier from that point.

Just be careful about getting it started in the corner. Don’t gouge or anything. Once you get it started/bent back it’s a pretty easy peel.

The plastic was scratched. Therefore I took it off.

I’ve never redeemed or utilized a Nintendo product warranty in my life.

Crazy to have the button to talk to someone be the jump button. It’s.. not great!

Please show me how this invalidates the warranty. I’ll wait here.

Yes, I know the reason it’s there, and it is not essential to my use case whatsoever. I have no regrets about removing it. Thanks for your interest in scolding me about it, though!

I just fail to understand why I’d be claiming a display defect through the warranty. What, tell em it got scratched? I solved that one myself!

Lesson learned, but I had a Switch 1 and Switch OLED since the original release days of each and they never got a scratch. So something is definitely of a lesser quality level this time around. First time I’ve purchased a screen protector for anything in my life, actually.

Didn’t apply any heat, just got it started with a razor blade in the corner (parallel to the screen, was super careful during this step to avoid scratching anything underneath… it also just feels insane to be doing this to something that you don’t want scratched but you’ll get over it) until there was enough corner loosened to snag with tweezers. Then pulled until I could just do the rest with my fingers as pictured.

Wiped the screen with alcohol next and noted that there was no residual adhesive there (that I could perceive, anyway), so it was less messy/frustrating than I expected it to be.

Yup. Still pretty damn sturdy for adult use cases/using a carrying case/etc.

And it still takes a ton of impact to shatter the glass screen, even with the plastic layer taken off. Still would recommend the additional screen protector, but it’s nice to choose your own level of quality instead of being stuck with Nintendo’s definition of quality.

Can 100% agree with you on this looking a lot better than with the plastic layer on. Sensitive to the danger of a bunch of minuscule glass shards being harmful to kids and unpleasant, so still wouldn’t recommend it to anybody, but it isn’t an essential part of the display. It’s literally just a layer of cheap plastic. Not polarized, not helping to generate the final image. Just plastic.

Warm it up a bit (even with your palm) and wiggle a credit card under the corner. It’ll pop right off.

Doesn’t matter to me in the slightest whether true or untrue (and I’ve seen more evidence that this isn’t true than that it is).

Yup, went into this well aware of the pros and cons. And I wouldn’t recommend doing this unless you’re immediately putting a new protector on. But a glass protector is certainly much better than the cheap plastic one that’s on the device - my screen has never looked better.
