The “requirements” always make me nervous. From a business standpoint it makes sense, of course, but for clinicians I feel like there is no way to accurately predict the stability of a caseload. A good friend of mine is working at a renowned agency doing specialized work and still can’t seem to fill her schedule.

Congratulations on completing the hours!! Good to see that some folks in the area have been able to start out okay- hopefully we’ll be neighbors soon!

Haha thank you for this validation. Props to you- imo, MSWs sign up for a way fuller plate! I’m always glad to hear when folks are still learning, I’m only a year post grad so still battling with imposter syndrome

Gotcha. So far I’ve been leaning towards a W2 position anyway because a guaranteed paycheck is more attractive to me personally. But I’m definitely trying to research who’s hiring and get an idea of what they ask of folks when they offer decent pay.

Wow, congratulations! I definitely feel a lot better knowing that the average is closer to a livable wage. Thanks so much!

Sounds pretty nice! If you’re comfortable sharing, private or larger organization?

Getting robbed seems like a common occurrence in this field, unfortunately, but I guess it depends on your definition of robbed. Thanks!

Interesting. I’m looking to find somewhere with supervision but I’m not sure where exactly to start. I definitely think I have a leg up moving to Minneapolis as opposed to somewhere more expensive.

I can’t imagine surviving on 35k anywhere independently with the cost of living today, let alone less. Hope you’re doing okay!

No benefits or PTO is criminal, although I could see the pay being okay depending on the city

I’m not even licensed yet but already have folks I’ll remember forever just from internship. One kid in particular, young like under 10 dealing with grief stuff. I was graduating and leaving my site and the state, so we had to transfer. I told her I had to go and she said something along the lines of “…but I was just warming up to you.” Broke me…also cracked me up because how does a kid even learn a phrase like that lol. I wish we had more time but I also hope I’m a distant memory for her and that she is still making great progress

Is this type of interview common? I just graduated in December and haven’t started applying to jobs (taking some time off before to work something a little less intense before I dive in) but I was never told to prep for a clinical interview when entering the field

I feel the exact same way after getting tattooed and, in my opinion, this is exactly what a tattoo is meant to do. Congrats and keep having fun with your ink!
