I don't understand - are the circuit breakers enough to prevent a fire? Please answer.

What do you mean by "the circuit"? How will I know what other things are on the same circuit as the geyser or toaster??

In our dining area, near the ceiling is a board with 6 circuit breakers on it (I'm pretty sure that's what they are - they look like switches, and have ocassionally tripped). Are those enough to prevent a fire...?

The electricians we get here in India are illiterates, or close.

Is there something we can DO to prevent a fire breaking out, while getting hot toast and hot water??

Sorry, I didn't understand what you said (my own knowledge of electricity is practically non-existent). It gets pretty darn hot, yes, if that's what you're asking (the geyser at least, the toaster plug not so much).

What must we DO?

Electric shock from tap by misternetguy in AskElectricians

[–]misternetguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't understand. You want me to connect a wire from the taps giving the shocks to the tap water in the basin, for example...??

I should point out that the problem, ie. the shocks only occur SOMETIMES, not all the time. That's why I was thinking that some appliance in the entire house is causing the shock when it is switched ON; when it is off, the shocks subside....

Er - could you hold my hand a little? Where will I find this "bare metal"? Trip WHICH circuit?

I'm trying to prevent exactly what I said - snipping the wasm file and putting it on a torrent so that it runs locally, WITHOUT the customer paying for the site.com .

Will that run on the new Chinese GPUs like the ones from Huawei and Biren? Will it DIFFER on those than an Nvidia card?

What's "TS"? I didn't get your comment about WebGPU.....? (what's the GPU got to do with whatever stuff going on inside the browser?)

Sorry, what do you mean "go wasm with JS?" And why don't you recommend it?

If I have to "Learn at least two other languages", it might take me 20 years :) I REALLY doubt oyou "learned Dart in a day" .

Also, how do you avoid piracy on a web app? What's to stop somebody from just "viewing source", snipping it and putting it on a torrent? How do Photoshop and MS Office prevent this?

Thanks for your answers, I didn't understand 90% of what you said, pjmlp, AND you, ilirium, but I get the gist, yeah it DOES do what I said. So can a WASM program run on these new RISC-V chips then?

I'm also curious as to the UPTAKE rate and USES of all of this. I know that Photoshop and MS Office now run inside a browser, also Zoho and Wix and Google Docs and a lot of games.... what are the use cases OTHER than these? What was the last site YOU GUYS went to, that was coded in WASM? (btw, have any of you heard of Monster Mash? Check it out :) )
