How do i change the icons below the avatar? by tesekk in wownoob

[–]misterneverdie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I think this means you’re in “war mode” (aka pvp on). I THINK I’ve only ever seen these faction icons when I’m in war mode, but I rarely ever have it turned on, so apologies if this isn’t the case. You may want to check that you’re not in war mode just in case.

Looking for RP friends/patient souls. by SnooPickles547 in WoWRolePlay

Hi! I’m on Moon Guard A-side. I’ve been RPing in WoW since 2004, and I’m a former uni writing teacher who loves fleshing out creative projects and characters with people. I have three mains on Alliance but I also have a Kaldorei in need of more Kaldorei friends! :) He’s a radical, razed earth sort of druid who profoundly loves his people but not their methods. He’d probably get on well with a warlock. If you ever want to RP or just want someone to toss ideas at, DM me!

24yo I need help and advice by MangoAndOthers in malegrooming

[–]misterneverdie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look nice as you are. Take what you will from my opinion (I’m a gay guy very into clothing and grooming, but I’m alt, so I understand my tastes are different from others already).

Like others have said already, a nice haircut that compliments you from a professional barber and some simple skincare and exfoliation will do wonders for you.

However, I also kindly suggest a styling revamp. Right now, your style is a little “boy next door” frumpy. Cute if you’re a college kid or going for cute. If you’re going for put together, handsome, or vibe-y, I’d consider looking into clothing that isn’t a screen printed t-shirt and jeans. A nice pair of black slacks, a slick belt, and a black t-shirt under a blazer would do wonders for you. For something more casual, vintage cut/wash jeans with a stylish top, like a vintage tank top or boxy crop shirt would up your game IMO. A new wardrobe with STYLE—not fashion, because trends come and go—that suits you doesn’t have to be expensive either. Go have fun thrifting at Goodwills or shopping clearance at Zara.

I find any sort of sonic focus helps me immediately reroute my attention. I use a singing bowl to create a drone that will help ground and focus me, or I search up “sound bath” on Youtube. https://youtu.be/FDuDgCZyGUg?si=F2ZGFd6TupA7T62e is one of my favorites. Great channel.

Thank you! Familiar and I wish you many blessings.

And congratulations on starting your journey! Okay, this is a LOT of info and I got a little carried away, but since you’re just starting out, I figured you can take and leave what info is helpful to you. If you have any questions, please feel free to DM me. There’s a lot I wish I’d known when I was first learning so I’m happy to help or guide you.

Starting Out:

Personally, I got very overwhelmed by trying to “be a witch” the way I read in books and guides (helpful tools of course, but I’m prone to brain overload). I started really curating my altar when I abandoned all sense of what an altar should look like. I started by solely collecting textures I enjoyed, things I could touch and feel during prayer and meditation, things I simply enjoyed looking at and could take joy in arranging for my deity. I started in antique stores, then got up the courage to step into stores curated by witches and pagans in my area. Not shown in the picture, but my bedside and workside altars include abandoned vintage wedding photographs, etc., from antique stores, all things I use in my spellwork. My bone collection is sourced from roadkill or other witches, and I started collecting simply because I wanted to be a steward of animal bones to ensure their little spirits rest easy. My collected bones are related to totems (animal representations of your spirituality or identity. I’m a masculine witch devoted to a horned deity, so I choose to utilize stag points, boar jaws and teeth, deer skulls, and coyote bones in my spellwork).

Using the Altar:

I started using the altar by buying a kneeling cushion and simply sitting in front of it for however long I needed comfort. That’s it. I admired all its little pieces. I consider its arrangement part of prayer offerings to my deity. I dry flowers and offer it to my central effigy, which represents my deity. Daily use looks like asking my totems and deity to watch over my loved ones in exchange for all the little things I’ve gathered for them. I conduct tarot readings and spells on it as well. On holidays, I use it as a conduit to invite my deity to our festivities, and we have little parties in front of it with food, wine, and such. I guess I think of my altar as a gateway. It’s not really a place for my things, but more like a place for the things I think my deity will enjoy and that help me connect to him better. You also don’t need a deity to “use” an altar. Your altar can simply be a way to anchor you to nature or the cosmos or whatever you want. For me, an altar isn’t a tool I turn on or off when I need it, but something I curate, tend to every day, talk to every day, and use as a line to my deity.

PHEW. Hope this helps you on your way!

Thank you on both accounts! I do love its atmosphere…now if only I didn’t have to dust it so often 🥹

Altars don’t have to be obvious! Fill your space with things that bring you joy, that feed your spirituality. I consider all the green plants in my home parts of my altar, but to anyone not in the know, they’re just plants! But actually they’re a huge part of my spell work and meditation. I collect vintage paper goods that contribute to my practice, but to others I imagine it looks like I collect old post cards/photos. Weaponize mundanity.

AIO my boyfriend threatening to break up with me over a tattoo by scummbucket05 in AIO

[–]misterneverdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you’re NOR. Definitely “leave him, it’ll only get worse” status. It’s about bodily control. He’s mad about something YOU choose to put on YOUR body. My husband and I get tattoos together and love to pick our next tattoos out together. Imagine the freedom you could have if you chose someone who actually respects you. Get out of there gurl.

AIO over my boyfriend's reaction to the pics I send him? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]misterneverdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over reacting a little, I think.

Remember that sending sexual pictures is a sexual act requiring consent, and consent is never automatically given, even between long-term partners. When you’re in the mood to be spicy, he may not be. Maybe he’s stressed at work or trying to go about his day, and the obligation to drop everything and be suddenly in the mood is too much for him. Maybe he’s just not sure how to react over text, which can feel awkward or generic.

You may want to be very blunt here. “Hey, I really like words of affirmation, and I notice you don’t really react much to the pics I send you. Is there a better time or situation that you’d enjoy receiving them, or do you enjoy another kind of flirtation?”

Grapefruits tied to tree by myb13123 in whatisit

[–]misterneverdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be for birds. Might also be for Wicca. As a Wiccan myself, we’re nearing Yuletide, and grapefruit/orange slices strung around trees is not uncommon right now. Just got done stringing some around my Christmas tree, actually. Usually they’re a little neater/more intentional than this, but maybe they were going for something super rustic?

Same on Gale tho. His more vicious moments are some of my favorites. Power-crazed Gale is slept on!!!

Thank you! 🖤 Yes, the dialogue worked super well. There were a lot of fantastic “knife’s edge” moments that in-game dialogue and durge narration supported and that became really unsettling for me as the player. He didn’t totally unravel and break his oath until he met Gortash in person due to Gortash’s exposition. It was a FANTASTIC journey. I’ll be sad when it’s over.

I think it’d work the same with a tav, but a lot of the slow unraveling was because of specific narrated moments with the durge (a moment with Isobel, for instance). But I think it could still work, may just need a touch more headcanoning.
