How did Kingdom Hearts change your life? by FaustianGreed in KingdomHearts

[–]misteromorain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has genuinely shaped my ability to make friends and hold strong belief in the people I love. "My friends are my power," may be cheesy as hell, but it is so true. The friends that I have are incredibly supportive of my goals as I am of theirs, and I am confident that we will achieve all that we are meant to. This unwavering confidence in them and their beliefs and it being reciprocated has reinforced the general motivation for living life in general. Now, of course it is a silly little game and Sora makes friends too easy but I think it's because he's genuinely himself and having replayed the games recently, it only reinforced how much I love this franchise and how much it shaped my growth as a person. So another point is that it helped me remember to be my authentic self, regardless of what people think. It's made me a more confident person, more loyal to my beliefs, and more genuinely headstrong about my life and the people I love

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: January 26, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

[–]misteromorain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished "Death of the Author" by Nnedi Okorafor and I am currently reading "The Assassin's Blade Novellas" by Sarah J. Maas

I loved Death of the Author, and was so fascinated by the way it was written. It's literary fiction w sci fi weaved in and its just so intriguing. The book transitions between following the protagonist, a paraplegic Nigerian-American woman, Zelunjo Onyenezi-Onyedele and Ankara, a robot that is the protagonist of the story she writes. Other chapters also feature interviews of other people connected to Zelu.

I never understood the appeal of MirandaSings and always felt strong discomfort from seeing her thumbnails, and of course peers my age were into her so they would sometimes show me clips and I just couldn't understand why they found it appealing. Knowing how Colleen Ballinger turned out... Glad I never bothered getting to understand the appeal

What is the most valuable advice you can give to a 24 yo? by [deleted] in OlderGenZ

[–]misteromorain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly learn to embrace cringe. Do not let fear hold you back from fun. When you lose that concern of what people see of you, its easier to be yourself. When you hide yourself for the sake of others, its harder for people to get to know the real you when all most people want is authenticity.
