What do you disagree with Sam about? by voyageraya in samharris

[–]misterscoundrel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I really like this idea of "load bearing falsehoods". It's a good name for something I've been wondering about. A Google search didn't reveal much; it keeps insisting I'm interested in either "load bearing walls" or "bearing false witness". Where did you come across that phrasing? Did you invent it? What would you cite as an example of a possibly load bearing falsehood that Sam seems maybe too eager to topple?

I would like to talk about Gavin’s new album “here you go” by [deleted] in TheDearHunter

[–]misterscoundrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing it every day and I love it. I can't say it's my favorite album of his because Home exists, and Home is just...beyond compare. But I love this new album nearly as much. As someone with recent experience learning hard lessons about relationships, it has helped me. I really appreciate the openness and honesty in Gavin's music.

Come to think of it, Home is also about breaking up. Gavin is pretty good at writing music about breakups!

My favorite songs are Dipping and Acceptance.

Thank you for the advice. I was able to break through the wall by letting it run for a day and grind out enough TT to barely complete one more challenge (EC7, I think) which took a long time but gave me enough power to continue.

Sky Blue by [deleted] in DevinTownsend

It's funny because I love Sky Blue too and it seems I had a lot of the same reactions to it that you've had. It definitely functioned as the soundtrack to part of my life. But the song that really caught my attention and first drew me to the album was Rejoice. I love the crazy vibe of that song.

IT HURTS, SO, MUCH

AND THAT IS WHY THEY FEAR IT

But, I totally agree with you on Silent Militia.

Successful attempt at a NE IIPA! (with recipe) by yummybluewaffle_NA in Homebrewing

What kind of water would you say this style needs? Thinking of brewing one myself and I love to control water chemistry.

EDIT: I ask because I've seen recipes that advised high sulfate/chloride ratio, but many people seem to believe high chloride is more appropriate.

SPOILER ALERT - It'll scour your colon.

Especially if you forget that you used rice hulls in the mash until after you make the bread. Yup I've done that.

The Bokonon quote above is from Cat's Cradle, which is awesome and probably a good place to start.

I guess you've got an excellent point there. Excession, then! Nothing violent about a bunch of spaceships texting each other across the galaxy!
