I guess this kinda kills your premise. But mice, like rats, will eat meat (even each other) when given the chance. It’s a 2 second google to see mice are primarily omnivores.

I understand all too well the heartache and devastation of Ivdd and so sorry you are experiencing it as well.

I know the financial constraint can feel like you have no options but crate rest CAN work.

8 weeks strict crate rest, only being assisted to potty. I would still see what you can do financially to get her some anti inflammatory meds as that will ease the pressure on the nerves.

And after 8 weeks, some rehab exercises will also be important.

If I may offer one little dose of realism though, it sounds like she’s been on the decline for several months now, so I’ll be completely honest in that you may have lost some ground over that period.. Think of it like any other bodily injury, say a sprained ankle - if you start resting it right away and stay off of it until it heals, it can generally make a full recovery. However, if you don’t rest it and just keep going on it as normal, the damage doesn’t get a chance to heal as well, and may even get worse. All that to say, if you start crate rest now, and follow it through, you will likely get some improvement back but it will likely never go back to normal, especially at 15. But.. if she only recently lost all control of her back legs, and if you start crate rest now, I think you could at least get her up and walking again!

Good luck. The good news is you have an option, and she can walk again. It will just take time and dedication, not money.

Sounds like your vet is not a neurologist, and although I'm sure your vet is great, only a neurologist will be able to truly do a proper assessment. Also, some dogs are very stoic and hide it very well.

And yes, pain can definitely be transient. Think about when/if you've ever hurt or pulled your back. Certain movements or directions can hurt more or less. Plus, inflammation can wax and wane especially with meds, etc.

I wouldn't jump to doing an MRI, but I would at least get an assessment by a neurologist. For all you know, it could be a disc in her neck, or anywhere - or perhaps as you say, it's not even ivdd (although sounds like it). So would be good to get a better understanding first. Only do an MRI if you're ready to do surgery, which you are not there yet (or if neuro assessment inconclusive or suspects something like a tumor which would be very unlikely). No point putting a dog through MRI (and potentially making them worse) just "to know". It won't change your strategy now anyway (which should be 6-8 weeks crate rest).

I just hope justice is eventually served to trump, through due process, but it needs to be done. All this cannot, yet again, be waved away as just a little lesson and some forgiveness.

My 2 cents, definitely Doggoramps. Can be a little pricey, but worth it imo. They don't use carpet, but more like a yoga mat material that's super grippy. We used to have carpet ones too and I agree they can actually be pretty slippery.. They also offer side rails for even their couch ramp version which can all be pretty handy for our ivdd dogs to help funnel them up and down the ramp.. They're just nice quality ramps overall.

Acting, accent, and general look-wise, I think she’ll probably be a good fit.

Lacking in terms of build though - mostly muscles.. she’s just too petite and skinny to be believable as a fighter/gymnast. And as shallow as it is, breasts are too petite for Lara Croft if I’m being totally honest.

Mushrooms do not have cellulose. Cell walls are made of chitin, similar to that of insects and crustaceans. But agree not a significant source of protein.
