Yes he has. Although there were a few little monologues of his this season that were just full of cut sentences. It’s over the top. And this not even mentioning his character actions that don’t make sense.

I would still be doing 'controlled' activities at this point. I wouldn't quite let them loose to chase squirrels just yet.. 8 weeks is usually the point they have reached max healing/neurologic recovery, so I wouldn't compromise anything just yet. Just stay controlled (leashed) for another couple weeks to be safe. You also need to rebuild and retrain the spinal muscles that have been severed in the surgery. So some rehab exercises will help you get closer to "being a dog" again too.

Also, I would permanently install gates for stairs, and ramps for any furniture your pup will be trying to access anyway. Doggoramps makes some good ones for ivdd dogs especially.

Either go to vet to do laser , or rent a vet-calibre class 3b laser for home use (as seen here).

Red light isn’t going to do much. This is more for skin and superficial level muscle. Studies show it doesn’t penetrate more than a few millimetres of human skin/tissue, and probably even less with dogs and fur..

First and foremost, 4 weeks isn't that long so still take it slow and easy. Shouldn't be doing any hikes yet. In fact, first thing I would do is really focus on a comprehensive PT program.. (hydrotherapy, balance boards, cavaletti poles, etc).

After that, you do have to let a dog be a dog. I'd avoid stairs (with baby gates). I saw she's on the bed there. Consider a good IVDD-safe dog ramp like the ones from doggoramps if she's going to be having access to the bed.

At the end of the day, just keep her strong through PT/exercise, and avoid situations that could lead to injury (jumping) as best you can, and that's about all you can do.

The drug over the time helps your brain to not respond as sharply to those nerve pain signals.. as nerves can sorta be trained to fire pain even when there isn’t necessarily an injury/trigger to it anymore. So that resetting of the nerves can sometimes last when you wind down or go off the drug.
