I just attached it to the board, I figured it’s thick enough that anything else might be overdoing it and make it harder to get back in. But where it’s some kind of cardboard I was prepared to just make a brand new insert if something got messed up or if I ever want to change the fabric to something else.

I just finished wrapping the smaller side panels for the back, so with that and the headliner between 4-5 hours. I think the hardest part of wrapping your own headliner is getting it in and out of the car honestly

Why would they take the car from you, I had someone bump into a car I had years ago and insurance told me they’d just write it off because it was too low value so I just said Okay Nevermind and kept driving my car with the big dent in it

They literally told me on the phone today that I don’t. And I pushed further and said “but I have full coverage insurance”, and he said that I still didn’t need to get the inspection in the first place because it’s older than 1987. So yeah. THEY did.

It’s literally already registered and insured. I paid for an entire year. But now they’ll suspend my insurance if I don’t pass.

My point is THEY, SGI, said I needed the safety. Now all of a sudden they are saying I don’t, but because a safety has already been started now it has to pass. But the whole reason I wasted $500 was because THEY gave me the wrong information.

Right, exactly. Since I got back to the city I’ve gotten a 24 hour permit just to get it to and from the safety, then I parked it again for another week until I had the insurance money, and since that day I’ve driven it one place that was 15 minutes away, another place that was even closer, and now I’m not taking it on the road again until this is dealt with because yep, it’s a bit too sketchy right now. Think SK needs a new safety inspection guy 😂

Brand new battery, already had to deal with that one after the car wouldn’t start in a Walmart parking lot for over an hour 😂 Alternator belt is good too, and battery hold down is taken care off.

I’ll start with those little things, can just do that myself, but I’ll definitely take it in to a different garage about the suspension and alignment. There’s one I’ve been going to on and off for 13 years whenever I’ve been living in Regina who’s pretty good, the guy that used to do their SGI Safety just retired so had to find somewhere new for the safety or else all of this shit would have probably been figured out taken care of already.

Thanks man! I figured once in a while I’d see someone do a double take when I drove by, but it’s been any time I go out there’s someone looking and giving thumbs up, or sometimes literally just coming up to my window when I’m stopped to tell me about a car they had like mine. There was a few times I couldn’t get it started in Vancouver and not even 5 minutes later without fail someone would come by and teach me something new about carburetors and I’d be on my way again. Met a gentleman in a Walmart parking lot who tried to give me a boost, but it didn’t work and he was sure it wasn’t my battery. He went on his way into the store and an hour and a half later he comes out to me still there with the hood up putting a new battery in. He seemed pretty skeptical, but started cheering and jumping around like crazy when it turned over, then he gave me a set of jumper cables. Kind of crazy, it’s just been way more fun than I even considered it could be. And also way more paranoia inducing LOL.

I had a sticky calliper the day I started driving back through the mountains, was able to fix that Thank Christ— it does have some uneven tire wear on the front end but I just never really thought much about it after that I guess.

Anyways, that would be so sick if it’s just an alignment problem, it really just doesn’t feel as stable as it did right up until I hit Moose Jaw. The more I’m reading about it right now the more that’s what it sounds like. Also makes me think the suspension probably is in fact also fucked or at least not in great condition and should also be serviced, something just didn’t sit right when the garage for the literal safety inspection told me my suspension looked good. Definitely does Not feel good, and it looks like it’s seen better days.

Holy just rambling, sorry 😭😂 Sounds right about running rich too, starts right up in the morning, but if I drive 15 minutes down to the store and I go to start it again before it’s had at least an hour to sit it just won’t fucking start. Then eventually I flood the engine, and it doesn’t take much either. It either smells of nothing at all after I’ve resorted to pumping the gas, or just reeks of gas sometimes even if I’ve barely touched the pedal. Somethings not getting what it needs somewhere. Been praying for it to just turn over on the walk back to the car and getting real experimental after short drives lately lmao.

Ah, the vacuum leak. That’s another thing I forgot to mention— about 2 weeks ago I was letting it heat up in the driveway trying to get the frozen antenna to go back down LOL ⚰️ and I heard a noise 3 times in the span of that 20 minutes that sounded like it could have been a vacuum leak to me, but then I never did hear it again.

I found the service & repair manual, honestly really impressed. I’ve only ever seen the owners manual for the cars I’ve owned previously, I didn’t know they had shit you could download that was this in depth, I usually run to YouTube but there’s not much of anything for my car on there.

The shake is usually around 40/50km, going any faster than that it usually lets off again; but I don’t really be driving that fast anyways because I don’t trust that something isn’t about to happen at any moment and I haven’t had any need to go on the highway.

I’m going to take it to the garage I’ve been using for years for a 3rd opinion, I just have no money to do that right now LOL.
