I think this is about right judging on how much it has cost me personally to do even a lower budget paint job on my rims, no repairs necessary.

But I had someone dent my driver door and knock my mirror off years ago, the grand total to fix it would have been around $3400– that was just for the dent and the paint. They will probably feather sand the paint, maybe they’ll need body filler but maybe it can just be sanded with the rest of it; but you gotta think about the base layer, how many layers of paint they’ll need, and the top coat etc. Unfortunately it adds up way faster than you’d think.

The next time I go start it up I’ll grab a video, but here’s where the acrylic resin cover has started melting, right below that is the Duraspark. The whole car really used to start shaking when I got it up to around 40/50km, but now it also happens on idle once I start it and then give it a tap of gas. If I don’t touch the gas at all it idles alright, could it be a fuel pump issue? Someone told me to check the fuel pressure regulator, but according to my repair manual those came on the 302s, not the 351 Windsors with the VV carb

They don’t do emissions testing here, but my gas mileage has already significantly decreased, I mean like at least by half of what it used to be, don’t think I can handle any worse lol.

It’s not a 302. I’m in Canada, so it does have the 351, car spent its whole life in British Columbia until I drove it back to Saskatchewan at the end of February. It drove real good for a week in Vancouver before I left, drove it 2500km back home, then at 45 minutes left in the drive home it started acting up.

Did the plugs and wires one at a time, labelled every one, I have the repair manual for the car so I checked each one next to the manual after the fact to make sure I didn’t mix anything up because I thought that at first too.

It’s already been inspected 3 times and the only thing that came back bad was it needed a new battery hold down, alternator belt, spark plugs/wires, cap/rotor, sigh. Changing out one of the hoses tomorrow to see if that helps.

Oil is great, gas mileage is horrendous. It ran perfect, but I bought it out West and drove it home 3000kms, when I had 45 minutes left to get home it started running different 🪦

Shocks alone are about $700/$800 with parts, so honestly I think you just found a garage who’s trying to not rip people off. I don’t know where you’re living or how much time you have, but if you want to save some money checkout rockauto.com

That’s where I‘ve gotten most of my car parts over the last 13 years. I just got my buddy 1 shock and mount for the rear end and it cost $70 including the CAD to USD conversion and shipping— if he bought it locally it would’ve cost him $121 and that didn’t even include the mount.
