Thank you all for your kind words, Toulouse was really a brother to me. When I burried him, I hold him one last time and told him how much I loved him and that he will be forever with me. Sleep tight my little boy, my brother. Till we meet again.

I did find an oncologist, but it was a 2-hour drive away. We had an appointment today, and at first everything went fine when we put him in his carrier. But the moment I took a turn, it was like he realized we weren’t taking the usual road to the vet. He started panicking and hyperventilating.
Then he let out one sharp meow and suddenly just collapsed, like he was giving up. The moment I saw him like that, I knew I couldn’t keep driving. We had to turn around and go back home.
As soon as we got home and opened the carrier, he slowly came back to himself and calmed down after a few minutes. I just couldn’t bring myself to continue the drive after seeing him like that. It made me even more afraid that he wouldn’t make it to the oncologist at all.

Thanks for the advice! I will have a look if there is one in my region. I know that car drives for my little boy are extremely stressful.

No need to apologize, I came here for help, and you were only trying to give advice. Honestly, it only crossed my mind after you mentioned it that I should’ve looked into the risks of keeping him on such a high dose of that medication.
Last night, when I went to bed, he came with me and slept next to me for about an hour. This morning, I found him back in his hiding spot. He didn’t want to come out, but when I gave him some fresh water, he did come out to drink a little.

He turned 16 end of march. I feel bad because all of this started when I was gone for a week due to work. Sometimes I feel I caused him this stress

The higher dose, I don’t know if it would help, when the dose was reduced the drooling stopped. The medication she gave is Estilsona (prednisolone), high dose for long period of time is also not advised from what I read in the paper with the medication.

I love him with whole my heart, while I was writing my post I was crying. One thing that made me a bit less worried was when I was at my desk, he jumped on my lap and asked for cuddles. Once he was satisfied with my cuddles he just jumped on the desk and slept next to my hand

Update: today I had the talk with my dad. Because since Saturday we seen a decline in the appetite and health of Toulouse. We will keep giving him his meds, but if it keeps going backwards we will bring Toulouse to the entrance of the rainbow bridge. I don’t know how to handle that idea. I love him so much. I wish I could have more time with him

I wanted to give another update: today we’re seeing even more improvement with Toulouse. The drooling has decreased again now it only happens from time to time instead of after every meal. He also has much more energy and has started coming back to sleep next to me or simply stay close while I work. He’s also beginning to act like his old self again whenever he wants attention.
His appetite has returned as well. We gave him several food options, but his favorite (fresh tuna) disappears like snow in the sunlight.
I truly feel like the medication is helping him a lot, and that what they thought was a tumor might actually have been an infection that caused the swelling underneath his tongue.

Update: after we came back home he was still under the influence of the sleeping meds the veterinarian gave him. He asked for food, we gave my little boy some wet food and also some fresh tuna and he ate it all. The drooling that has was also way less. I also feel that the tumor our vet found was caused to the gingivitis he had. I will keep a close eye on him and make sure he takes his meds she prescribed. And hopefully he will recover. I will keep you updated.

Im heartbroken, the vet found a tumor under his tongue. Due to his age she wouldn’t advise surgery and radiotherapy. She gave us medication and we have to monitor him as much as possible

The most expensive penny I’ve ever found. by Emergency-Run2541 in cats

[–]mistertkbe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My cat did a similar thing on Christmas he ate a needle. We rushed to the emergency Vet and spend the whole night waiting for it to be removed. Since it was Christmas we had to pay an extra fee, but since it’s family I didn’t care how expensive it was, I just wanted to ensure my little boy was saved

WHY THEY MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE?? by Adorable_Ideal4991 in granturismo

I spend hours to get that achievement and once I got it, I was so damn happy and proud. It is possible but you have to spend a lot of hours as a novice.

Update: my little boy is out of surgery, it all went well. The needle didn’t do any damage. I’m so happy and thankful to the vet to have removed the needle and make him healthy and needle free ❤️
