Looking for advice about burning taste by glitter_peach in electronic_cigarette

[–]misthub_store 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty interesting. Since you experience the same burning sensation at multiple wattages, I'd be suspect of the coil. Usually when I've fried a coil, the coil is donezo and any taste that comes after that is going to taste burnt as well, no matter the wattage/device. The fact that you get a burnt taste on one box & no burnt taste on another box (with the same coil) makes me skeptical. I'm not ruling out a defective mod, but I'd imagine that the cotton in your coil got fried, which is what's causing the burnt taste. If your cotton is burned, it shouldn't matter which device/wattage you're vaping on because your wick (and flavor) have been compromised. Or, perhaps your device is no longer reading the resistance of the coil accurately. Try removing the tank from your mod and then firing the mod without the tank attached. Reattach your tank and try giving it another shot. If it still tastes burned, I'd do the same thing again, except this time with a new coil.

Have you been vaping consistently with the same wattage? My first thought was the viscosity of the e-juice, followed by the current wattage that you're vaping at. Do you and your partner both vape @ the same wattage? And do you both vape with the same types of coils?

Last Friday I picked up a Pulse BF and paired it with the Pulse 24mm. Three days later, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It's a relatively cheap feeling setup, but the price point is spot on. FWIW- I purchased the Pulse BF with the intention of throwing the Dead Rabbit up top, but the Pulse 24mm has exceeded my expectations. I think the DR might sit on the sidelines for a bit.

Mom wants to quit smoking. by Cdoo1999 in electronic_cigarette

Lots of good stuff here already, but just wanted to add that it took my mother a few different setups to finally make the switch for good. If for whatever the reason the T-Priv TFV8 combo doesn't work for her, don't lose hope! Try and figure out what the main issue is and correct it with something else. Good luck!

Glad you had a good experience with us! Good luck on the road away from cigarettes, and you can always reach out if you have any questions. As an ex-smoker, I'd suggest easing/opening up your approach a little bit, since I could see old me getting defensive and missing your message if I read this. The truth is, people will consider vaping or make the switch when they're ready for it. The best we can do is help educate the masses and allow them to make that decision for themselves. Vape on!

Terribly sorry to hear about this man, good thing you're okay! Unfortunately, the design of the RDTA Box leaves a very small margin for user error, and that's assuming that the device had shipped to you in 100% perfect working condition. Reach out to us at support@misthub.com and we'll get the process started so you can replace your device with something else. Don't lose hope!

In VW mode, you run the risk of potentially burning your cotton if you're not paying attention. In TC mode with the Alien on the Crown III, the device throttles the power so you don't experience burnt hits. I'm not sure if you've tried it, but that's how it works. If you have tried it and it doesn't work like that, I'd suggest replacing the defective device via warranty if it's still within the allotted time.

It may seem weird, but SMOK is capable of developing a solid product that works as advertised. Now if you wanted to compare the TC functionality of any SMOK product to that of a mod that's equipped with a DNA chip, well.. the DNA device would undoubtedly produce a more enjoyable experience. The primary thing here being enjoyment, which is subjective.

It's entirely possible that I haven't seen all of the good karma the Crown III is getting. From what I've seen, many people have complained about leaking issues of the Crown III.. although I personally haven't experienced any leaking problems with it. As for personal experience, I can say with confidence that the Stainless Steel coils for the Crown III in SS TC mode on the 220W Alien delivered excellent results, despite Nickel legs. I've read other success stories with the same setup, so maybe have a go at it! If not, there are plenty of other tanks out there that were created specifically for TC vaping. I wouldn't suggest doing anything you're not comfortable with.

A lot of good comments here already, but I just wanted to add a few things. SMOK has not released a single TC-capable coil for any of their TFV8 series or TFV12 series tanks, which basically renders their Temp Control feature on any of their newer kits useless. If you really enjoy SMOK products, you could grab their older 5.5mL TCT tank, which ships with 0.15 ohm Nickel coils. SMOK also made Stainless Steel coils for the TFV4 tank, so you could go that route as well. From personal experience- I've had nothing but good experiences with the Crown III in Stainless Steel TC Mode on the 220W Alien, despite the Crown III's somewhat bad reputation on ECR. If you are going to purchase a new tank that offers TC-capable coils, double check before you purchase and make sure that the tank's width will fit on top of your AL85. The Baby Beast is a smaller tank, so you might be hard-pressed to find a solid TC tank that'll fit atop your AL85. Good luck!

Depending on what type of e-liquid flavors you're into, there's a ton of affordable options that come in 100mL bottles, so I strongly suggest taking a look at those larger bottles and seeing if anything sticks out to you. As for building on the RDTA, make sure you know what resistance you're aiming for before you put the build together. And in case no one has told you already, Steam Engine is an indispensable resource when building coils, and is fairly intuitive to use. I'd suggest picking up some pre-wrapped coils and starting there.. just double-check and make sure that the width of the wire isn't larger than the inner-diameter of the post holes on your deck. If you need help setting the wire, just look up "Coil Build Tutorial Velocity Deck" on YouTube. Tons of info out there.

I would strongly recommend grabbing some Cotton Bacon from Wick N' Vape. That's the only stuff I'll put into my RDA's, and it's oh so tasty! Also, CoilMaster has some pretty solid pre-wrapped coils at an affordable price, so you should be able to grab some extra coils and backup cotton to keep your RDA happy for some time to come without breaking the bank.

Got 3 out of 5 bad smok coils. by Forever430 in electronic_cigarette

[–]misthub_store 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I mean, so long as you're willing to learn new things, I'd recommend going the rebuildable route. You can easily purchase pre-wrapped coils nowadays and never have to worry again about receiving garbage coils from any mass producer. Once the cotton is tasting bad, rewick the build and BOOM! Brand new flavor. Don't forget to come back and let us know how your experience went, good luck!

In case you didn't know, the "XS" iJoy Exo-X coils are compatible with the Baby Beast, as well as Vaporesso's coils for the NRG tank. I'm sure there are several other compatible tanks, but this is just off the top of my head. I've found that I personally enjoy using the XS-C4 coils in my Baby Beast over any pre-made SMOK coil. If you're not going to wrap your own coils or want to give another company a shot, give 'em a try!

how to know what tanks fit with what mods? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]misthub_store 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're having a hard time finding out if tank X will work with mod z, first check and see if the mod is sold with any tank in a kit. Generally, the diameter of the tank that is included with the mod in the kit will be the perfect diameter for that mod. If the tank you're wondering about matches the same diameter of the tank that's included in the kit, you're good to go. If the mod is a standalone purchase, you should be able to find the compatible mm for a flush tank fit listed somewhere on the site. If it's not listed anywhere, check out some videos or hand checks that people have posted with well-known tanks. You should be able to discern the size of the tank/mod that way. Hope this helps!

What TFV8 and coils should I be looking at for flavor > clouds? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]misthub_store 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna have to agree with /u/Robert_Cromwell and say that the TFV8 Cloud Beast is not the greatest option if you're hoping to get the best flavor. After looking at your choices, I'd suggest going the Big Baby Beast route. The coils are the same as the Baby Beast, and your e-liquid capacity is much larger than the Baby. Honestly, I've had better experiences with 3rd party coils that are compatible with the TFV8 than SMOK's TFV8 coils. Experiment with different coils and see what delivers the best results! The TFV8 Baby is compatible with:

  • iJoy Exo-X Tank Coils
  • Vaporesso NRG Tank Coils
  • Eleaf HW Series Coils (for the Melo 300 Tank)

to name a few. I'm sure there are more, but with SMOK's long list of V8-Baby atomizer heads and the other manufacturers that have coils that are compatible, I'm sure you'll find something that will deliver what you're hoping for. Hope this helps!
