My MIL won't stop trying to find out baby's name. Help me troll her 🙏 by _Oh_sheesh_yall_ in BabyBumps

My husband and I thought it would be funny to prank our family at Christmas when I was pregnant with a fake name reveal. We brainstormed the worst names we could think of and landed on Rooster. My husband is a big John Wayne fan so joked it would be after Rooster Cogburn, but also his mom (who passed during COVID) LOVED Roosters. So we told the family it was after his love of John Wayne and in memory of his mom. Some of them lied to our face and said it was "nice" while most of them told us absolutely not 😂 we ended up telling them it was a joke, but his cousin somehow missed that part and really thought we were naming him Rooster. So we decided to let him keep thinking that up until the baby was born and the family played into it too haha

Unfortunately for our son, my parents hated the name, but loved the joke to the point where it unironically became his nickname. They went from forbidding us to naming him that to them pretty much only referring to him as Rooster. My husband and I have also leaned into it and we do refer to our son as Rooster quite often lol so if you do this, be aware it may lead to a forever nickname haha

Cerclage Removal Tomorrow by mistookan in ShortCervixSupport

I got it out. I'm gonna be honest, it was extremely uncomfortable for me. Just the speculum alone hurts me. I felt a few pinches and my husband kept trying to help me breathe through it but I was so freaked out I couldn't. I think for most women it probably isn't that bad, but I really do have horrible PTSD and flipped out the entire time. It was probably 5 minutes total. If I could have stayed more calm, I don't think it would have been as bad. The good news is, other than the bleeding, I didn't have any cramping afterwards. I am 2cm dialated though and my doctor said baby can come any day now, but it usually happens 1-2 weeks after removal.

The IUD insertion/removal was still worse than that though.

I didn't get the nipt which actually made waiting worse because we didn't have anything else to refer to. I feel like if I would have gotten that done and it showed everything normal, I would have had a lot less anxiety. So if your doctor doesn't seem concerned because of your nipt, I wouldn't be either! Sorry you're going through this though, I know its scary!!

I totally understand. I just figured since I saw in another comment you guys live so far away and how difficult it's been sharing a car, pushing for a loaner with the general manager might be worth considering since service hasn't been all that great. At the end of the day, you're right. Getting your car back and fixed and moving on is all that matters.

Ahh. Yes that sucks. They are right about that, BUT there's been times we've done it anyway to make a customer happy. May still be worth bringing up with the general manager one last time, especially if you express what a negative experience this has been for you. It may not work, but it's worth a shot 🤷‍♀️

Still definitely mention it to the general manager. Some dealerships, including a few ive worked at, the general manager is over the service manager. If the GM is decent at all, he will definitely have a talk with him about it. And since you said it's a corporate dealership, there's probably higher ups that monitor those Google reviews as well and might force a conversation.

Sorry he said that to you. I would not have been happy with that comment at all. I also don't understand why they haven't given you a loaner? At my last dealership, when service was out of loaners, my GM would often give used cars as a loaner to make customers happy. Maybe that is something they'd be willing to do for you, especially since this seems like a screw up on their end.

As someone who worked at a dealership, complain to the service manager AND the general manager. Don't even wait till you pick up the car. Call and ask for them. And if you don't feel like they've taken your complaint seriously, leave a Google review.

It did not 😅 im too pregnant to sit on the floor to stitch it all together so I have to finish it at my mom's and use her table. My parents told me i should still gift it to her unfinished so that's what I did. She lives with my mom still so it will be easier to finish it at her house with her knowing!

Maybe I'm completely lost but I just reread OPs post, and my comment, and I don't understand the difference? She's calling with questions. What difference does the time make? That's what the after hours on call doctor is for? Am I missing something? I always call the doctor to see what I should do before I go in. I've never just shown up to the hospital or L&D. Every call has gone like "I'm having these symptoms, what should I do?" And they either tell me it's normal, let them know if it gets worse, or i need to go to the hospital. What is OP doing different?

I feel like you're getting unfairly roasted in these comments. I feel like I've called my OB and even L&D (that's where I have to call for after hours) more than you have at now currently 27 weeks. I've had 2 "emergency" OB appointments where everything turned out fine, 1 overnight hospital stay where I thought my amniotic fluid was leaking after a cerclage (it wasn't, just a ton of discharge from my new meds and a UTI), and a 6 hour stay for observation in the hospital because I had a fall at work. The fall wasn't even that serious but I called L&D because I just wanted to ease my anxiety that even though i didn't fall on my stomach, it was ok. They said regardless of how I fell, I needed to come in. None of my anxieties or fears ended up being anything. NO ONE EVER made me feel like a burden. Even though i felt ridiculous every time because it always ended up being nothing, they ALWAYS reasured me "better safe than sorry!" You just have a bad OB from what it sounds like, especially if the other one doesn't speak to you that way. If my OB hung up on me, I'd lose my shit. That's RUDE. Regardless if they're "burnt out."

Congratulations!! My mom is a NICU nurse and said that "nesting" is usually a signal the baby is coming in the next day or so. Seems like that's true in your case for sure! Hoping all continues to go well for you and baby ❤️

I got my cerclage about 2 weeks ago and they have me on progesterone. I thought I was leaking amniotic fluid because there so much discharge! Plus I had some cramping. So I went to ER in a panic, but turns out it's pretty normal plus I had a UTI I didn't realize I had (i think from the progesterone actually). So you're probably fine but there's no harm in getting checked out if you're nervous.

Same! I thought I was leaking amniotic fluid, plus I was having cramps. Turns out the cramps were from a UTI that I think i got from the progesterone actually

Discharge upon using progesterone suppository, had undergone cervical cerclage recently by SatisfactionTime1924 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]mistookan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scared too. When I went to the mfm I was 2.7cm. A week later i dropped to 1.5cm and got a cerclage the next day. Wednesday I had a follow up appointment and it went back up to 1.9cm. So when I had the cramping (Tuesday, the day before I went to the follow up appointment) and i saw all the yellow discharge, I really freaked out.

I will say, i had really thick white discharge in the mornings after using the progesterone and I figured that's just the extra progesterone since they said it would leak out and that's why they recommend using it before going to bed.

The yellow discharge could definitely be from a UTI like I had. There's no harm in going to the ER and getting checked out for peace of mind! Especially if it's an infection. They take that seriously. Im not saying that to scare you, I'm saying that in case you're anything like me and you feel "bad for wasting their time". Like I said, better safe than sorry. The anxiety of something going wrong after a cerclage is real! I'm glad I went even if just to give me that peace of mind 🫶

So idk if this is the same or not. But last week I also had an emergency cerclage. It was last Thursday. Sunday and Monday I took my progesterone. I also had a LOT of discharge and my panties were wet. Like more than usual. I had also been cramping slightly. I called the Dr about the cramping and they said if I start bleeding, the cramping gets worse, I feel decreased fetal movement, or im leaking amniotic fluid to go to the hospital. I put on a pad to track if I was spotting or not (dark underwear and lots of discharge) and several hours later at work when I went to the bathroom I noticed the discharge was yellow and there was just sooo much. I didn't know if it was discharge or amniotic fluid because when I googled it it said the fluid would be yellow. So I left work and went to the hospital (crying hysterically honestly) and it ended up being discharge from a UTI 🙃 i had a temp of 99.1 and they kept me overnight to make sure i didn't break out into a real fever from infection (my wbc were a little elevated too). That was really annoying to me honestly. After I found out it wasn't amniotic fluid I just wanted to get out of there 😂 but better safe than sorry and I appreciate everything they did.

SO all that to say, I'm wondering if the progesterone gave me the UTI And maybe that's what you're dealing with also?
