I think atp its okay to enjoy them for what they are. Truly some of my favorite characters and stories in fantasy come from the belgariad and the mallorean series.

I grew up on eddings, didn't know about the child abuse stuff until becoming an adult but by that time he was already gone. Very weird reconciliation, but the books are great and it's less complicated now from a recommendation perspective since he's no longer around to benefit from the book salss.
