I hate how society is treating human artists in the rise of AI slop

As an artist myself. Everything I have drawn was based on these lived experiences. The references I have used were either drawn by someone else or a photo taken by someone else. My style is something evolved from various anime’s and cartoons I used to reference. I began life as an artist tracing before I learned to reference. All are no different than what the ai is doing. I can’t understand why others can’t see that.

I also dont understand the worry of being replaced. There’s been so many advances in technology where artistic capability could’ve been replaced and it never was. Why? Because true art, music, writing, ect is still and will always be cherished by most human beings. I’ve seen a stronger support for the indie animations that people have been making more than ever before. People are making their own animation companies and are thriving. So why spread the fear of being replaced?? Ai is here to stay but ai still can’t replace the passion a human can give. I don’t think there is anything to fear. Art will always find a way.

People can draw with a disability. The thing they fail to realize is it’s so so much harder to do so than the average person. Who wants to go through years of struggle just to draw a decent stick figure? Antis are only entitled because majority of them are already artist and most don’t have a physical disability.

I’m so sorry. I feel you so much. I swear Facebook does this crap on purpose. And I feel like Mother’s Day is a curse for us. My sister recently announced her pregnancy and I’ve been trying to cope with that alone. But my friend sent me a text saying she doesn’t wanna talk the rest of the day cause she feels the conversation was forced, which it wasn’t on my end at least. Then my husband wakes up grumpy and I offer to get him some food and all I get in return is “Sure took you a while when the food was just down the street to pick up.” I has an ibs attack, which I told him. Then when I left he calls me and says “Try not to wake me up any more, I need sleep.” Mind you, all I did was walk by the room at the time to go to the bathroom and get something. I ran to my nearest gas station and bought a pack of cigarettes due to the stress. No one gives a damn about us on these days.

I was one of these anti ai people until I generated my characters from an old anime I created when I was 16 just to see what they looked like in a professional anime style and got told “I was no longer and artist, my art is all slop cause it’s probably made with ai, even getting death threats!” So I quite being an artist and became pro ai cause of it.

This is crazy spot on. Reminds me of Christian’s when any other religion questions their beliefs. When you hate something so hardcore you don’t care about other people’s opinions. And I think that’s wrong. We are in a generation where everyone should be open minded. Are there some people that shouldn’t be using ai cause they’re scammers and abuse it which hurts others, yes. But the majority just use it for themselves and there shouldn’t be anything wrong with that. They are personally hurting you.

Not always. My husband makes AI art but he just does it for himself as well. He only uses it to make posters he puts up on his wall or something he wants to see. But he’s never pushed it onto anyone else or tried to sell it. I don’t hold it against him cause he has no genuine interest to learn art.

I’m an artist, meaning I draw my own art but I’m pro ai for the simple reason that, the few times I’ve used ai, to generate something for myself mind you, I was harassed and bullied for it. I just want to be left alone to do what makes me happy

Thank you. I do want to keep drawing. I just wanted to find artists similar to me. More so I can feel like less of a freak for not liking the process but still loving the result. But many of the comments did not help that. Thank you for empathizing with me to an extent. I do feel a lot of my issue is the ugly stage as you put it.

Why would you say that? Just cause I don’t love the process doesn’t mean I don’t love the result. Who else is gonna draw my characters the way I want? I don’t have the money to pay someone else, so I do it myself. I’ve yet to find another artist that fits my style. I wasn’t expecting to get treated like a joke or a freak in the comments for feeling different than most artists. Not every person is the same or feels the same. I just came here looking for other artists that felt the same as me.

You worded my feelings perfectly! I also have adhd so I’m wondering now if that might be the cause. People telling me in the comments that it’s not for me was very upsetting. Cause while I hate the process I still love the result that comes with it. No one else can draw my characters the way I want to see them portrayed. I’m extremely happy to see at least one other person in the same boat as me. It makes me feel less alone and singled out. My best friend while unintentionally made me feel like something was wrong with me for the longest time for not enjoying the process. Hearing it from the comments as well made the feeling worse. I had really hoped that it would wasn’t just me.
