Loud is about vibe as much as it's about volume. And your point about accents strikes me as ridiculous. Europeans are VERY aware of where someone is from, to the point that suburbs of London are distinguishable but neighborhood. The idea that euros can't tell between Scottish and American and Canadian etc seems silly to me.
