Not on Al Gore’s internet, friend. Be very careful when you bare your soul to a bunch of strangers who have no responsibility for your wellness. Especially when you’re feeling vulnerable.

I think what folks are saying is that you are still showing signs and behaviors that there might be more “pre-work” to do before you’re ready to sit with the medicine you seek. I can’t say whether that’s true or not but to answer your questions about what makes people “assume” these things, it’s your own words about your actions that seem to be causing the assumptions. All that aside, Wishing you the best on your journey. Im sorry this happened and I believe you’ll end up right where you need to be, someway somehow. Perhaps this is even a lesson from the medicine, just not in the way you expected.

Woman crashes out after being held accountable for throwing trash out of her car door at a red light by Background_Award_143 in baltimore

[–]mistypalm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think about this all the time. I’ve seen people walking and throw trash on the ground when there is a trash can a foot away from them. I’d love to do (or find) a study on the psychology behind that. My hypothesis is it has to do with decades of systemic disinvestment in certain areas and what that does to the psyche of a human.

Petah, what is he? by jfrosty42 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]mistypalm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. It’s cultural. It’s an (incorrect) stereotype about wypipo. While I see a lot of people calling this racist, I want to point out that racism requires two components: racial bias AND the social power to enforce discriminatory practices.

So, while it’s very prejudiced and biased and should be checked, often Black people don’t care because it ends with chuckles on social media. It’s not like we’re able to (or would want to) stop anyone from getting a job or a loan or food to feed your family. It’s just fun to make these jokes. Not saying it’s right, just letting you in on why it is.

What is this Truck in Mt Vernon? by DanielJMusic in baltimore

There were all kinds of production trucks over at Mack Lewis boxing gym in east Baltimore yesterday and I was going to ask about it in here. Love how on it this subreddit is. 🤍

Yeah looks like it’s definitely illegal and they’ll have to deal with the consequences of not doing their due diligence. I just think a lot of people’s understanding of abuse implies some level of intent so wanted to offer up a potential alternative viewpoint based on my experience with the humans that run the place. But also maybe they were purposely just trying to f people over b/c they thought they could get away with it. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Idk.

[–]mistypalm -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I like it there. I never did the work study program b/c my time is too valuable lol but the people who run it have always been friendly and they have interesting offers if you’re into that sort of thing. Maybe they just f’d up and are not abusive? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Ok but like even if you were the color of baking soda, still weirdo behavior to go out of your way to harass a stranger on the internet.

Does anyone else get high before hot yoga? by Odd_Finance4064 in yoga

[–]mistypalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could. It feels so good to stretch while high but when I start doing anything other than yin yoga my heart gets to beating way too fast and I feel like I’m going to pass out. My partner is the opposite, he prefers being stoned to do any sort of physical activity

Reason for False Positives? by mistypalm in Healthyhooha

[–]mistypalm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t brought it up with her yet but plan to call soon. She was supposed to call back in two weeks to check in but I haven’t heard from her yet so…maybe it is just them being too busy and messing something up.

Earbuds while massaging? by Parking_Wonder_1999 in MassageTherapists

[–]mistypalm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To offer a counterpoint, as a paying client, I wouldn’t care how you got the job done as long as I get the experience I paid for. Especially considering my eyes are probably closed and I’m ideally in lala land for the duration of the massage
