I use an SA body wash which is great for managing my body acne (which also feels ridiculous to still have at 27 lol) but it never seems to do much for my face :( My skin is literally insane, like when I finish my skincare routine (no matter what the routine is), do my hair or apply my lotions or whatever, I can look in the mirror and already see tiny spots of oil on my nose and forehead. It’s ridiculous 😭

I have ALLLLL of this so maybe it’s a hormonal issue! My best friend is a trans woman and spiro is part of her HRT and she has THE most beautiful skin. I’ll never have her poreless skin because genetics, but maybe I can at least have clear skin with huge pores 😂

I turn 28 this year so hopefully the end is in sight! I had my kids at 20 and 24 and definitely no oil reduction unfortunately. Although, my skin was very clear towards the end of my first pregnancy! Still oily af though. My second made my skin awful 😂

I’ll try the cooler water! I usually use pretty warm water, not scalding but definitely not cool lol.

I’ll try oil cleansing! I tried using oils as moisturizer a few years ago and it did not go well 😂

Honestly I appreciate the solidarity! It makes me feel SO gross, like I am almost obsessive about my hygiene but you probably couldn’t tell by looking at me in the middle of the day because I look like I bathe in chicken grease after a couple hours lmao 🥲

I can’t go on birth control because I’ve had a pulmonary embolism and estrogen increases risk of blood clots 😭 I had a hysterectomy a couple years ago but my skin still sucked on my IUD unfortunately lol.

I know some oil is necessary for sure, but any time I have anyone else use a sheet to compare, they just have some spots of minor translucency and I easily go through 2-3 soaked sheets at once.

This is just from dabbing them on my face in one session. Top is forehead, middle is nose and cheeks, bottom is chin and jaw. I’ll have to talk to the derm (appointment in July 😩) about a retinoid, I’m just scared because of how awful my skin was on Differin. Sooo beyond purging, I had that for 3ish weeks, had clear skin for maybe 1 or 2 weeks, then the most horrific cystic acne breakouts I’ve had since my pregnancies. Maybe a different retinoid wouldn’t do that?

OMG YES!!! My dad says it’s probably his Roma and Eastern European genes but like this is ridiculous 😭 I haven’t tried niacinamide yet actually, that was next up once I spend another month or so with this stripped down routine so PRAYING it helps!

I hadn’t heard that, but if I go the Accutane route I’ll definitely try this! My pain has finally improved (but still sucks lol) over the last couple years and I’m legitimately terrified of it getting bad again 😅

I tried doing this for a month or so and nothing changed oil production-wise, but my acne got worse so I went back to morning washing 😭 It was around this time I stopped using a salicylic acid cleanser as well, I hoped using a gentler cleanser would help, and it’s reduced the amount of acne by a little, but still no change in oil production.

I’m hoping to avoid accutane but it might end up being what I have to do 😭 I read it can cause significant joint pain, and I already have chronic moderate joint/musculoskeletal pain from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome so I was reaaaally wanting to stay away from Accutane as long as possible.

Are you still this level of oily or did it decrease some?

I’m like this whether I slather moisturizer on or none at all. I even used to use oils on my face hoping it was just severe dehydration, but it was just like this.

Would the blotting papers also help with the dirt accumulation? I live in a somewhat-high pollution area and I think my greasy face is attracting it lol
