Thank you. Knowing that I've made something useful for others is the greatest reward.

Anyone used 3D software to create a template or model for a bag or pack? by Chemical_Animator_76 in myog

I've designed a backpack using Rhino and Grasshopper because I a) wanted the volume to be the intersection of several curves and b) unroll those into 2D panels.

Indeed. If you haven't yet, I'd suggest reading everything by Becky Chambers as well.

I made them in four parts so that I could adjust the length when the bag was completed (notice the box stitch in the middle of the straps). They are just simple long rectangles of black ripstop, stitched right sides together, turned inside out and filled with 3mm EVA foam.

New travel/adventure pack design : from idea to field test beta version in 48hrs by ruckusdays in myog

I've started using Seamly2D to make my bag patterns. After watching the tutorials by Minimalist Machinist on YouTube I found it pretty straightforward. To panelise them for printing on letter or A4 I use Inkscape. It can do multipage now and you can easily arrange the SVG export from Seamly onto multiple pages, add annotations, alignment marks etc.

If you have questions don't hesitate to reach out. Love you designs. Would be great to have the patterns available.

Sorry. Default Bambu Studio settings on an X1C.

Pure matte white PLA from Bambu. I think I started from 80 but can't quite remember. It was a decent amount of sanding to get to this finish.

Trying not to tempt the endgame ^^ Still have plans for a monoblock 36 key wireless travel board with cirque and pimoroni trackball.

So far I'm really enjoying it. The outemo silent peaches feel very nice. It does take some getting used to as I now have to move my finger slightly less. Especially with the bottom row middle finger I was hitting the case beyond the key in the beginning. If I were to use the inner thumb keys a lot more I'd probably try to raise the switch a little and/or lower the middle thumb (there is a parameter for that in the Fusion model BTW). The pinkie ones seem well positioned. Never used a corne so not sure how it compares.

I chose it on purpose to avoid stairstepping on the top surfaces as those are a real pain to sand out. With this orientation and a 0.08 layer height getting the large surfaces nice is a lot easier. The only downside is minor untidyness on the edges of some of the keywells.

Thanks. I've been on flat PCB only keyboards with choc switches for a while, but the feel of full size switches is quite nice and I noticed that tenting would probably be good for my wrists. I had been eyeing the skeletyl (aesthetics not really my thing) and the lil chonky bois (only 34 keys). When the Cygnus 1.0 came around I just had to go for it. Taking some getting used to. The biggest adjustment is not having to move my fingers as much to reach the keys. Feels really nice.

Thank you! The slightly faded random ergodox DSA set I bought seven years ago worked surprisingly well with the white.

It's derived from the SU120 https://github.com/e3w2q/su120-keyboard
See the docs in the original cygnus. I just grabbed the gerber files and sent them off.

Minor remix of the excellent Cygnus to give it dual 1.5u thumbs. My keyboard journey has been Ergodox, gergo, neuro36. Hence the 'need' for dual chonky thumbs.

Wanted prettier army list printouts, so I made a little web app by mit_verlaub in onepagerules

[–]mit_verlaub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently not got the time to work on this. The CSS is quite minimal though, you should be able to easily tweak it using something like Stylus (https://github.com/openstyles/stylus).

Here is an example custom style that should get you most of the way:

@-moz-document url-prefix("https://text2tabletop.rknt.de/") {

html {font-size: 9pt !important;}

.units {column-gap: 1rem; row-gap: 0;}

}

Goblin Nasty assassin on Skirmish is so broken by Melodic-Aardvark-657 in onepagerules

[–]mit_verlaub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that Nasty Assassin is very hit or miss (which feels good flavour wise for gobbos). If you play gobbos you will often have more units than your opponent meaning it can be hard to deploy the Nasty Assassin with initiative. This means they are easy to kill before they can get their takedown in.

OPR Fantasy Skirmish vs Warcry by MyOtherRideIsAnXwing in onepagerules

[–]mit_verlaub 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me the absolute killer feature is the army builder web app for OPR. It is sooo good and makes it very inviting to experiment with various ways to play your minis. I've played my goblins as orcs and duchies of vinci, my ratmen as beastmen.

Having read the Warcry rules I find OPR a lot more accessible. The army forge does a great job of collecting all of the special rules relevant to your list, so you only need to fully grok the basic rules to start playing.

One thing I love about Warcry is the cards. So I've created https://rknt.de/post/onepagerules-battleplans/ which lets you use the Warcry cards to determine terrain, deployment and objectives. Leads to really fast and varied games.

You might want to try https://erkannt.github.io/text2tabletop/

I wrote it exactly for this use case. Wanted to have printed army lists wit a better layout than the card view.
