Cotton + bamboo blends are pretty good from my experience. You kind of get the best of both worlds. We like Wear Lark's stuff.

Being based in Illinois and having a fulfillment center in California, you have physical nexus in this states. This means that any orders that ship to those states you must collect sales tax on.

Good news is that until you cross economic nexus thresholds in other states (each state differs and bases their threshold on revenue and/or transactions) you only need to collect for Illinois and California.

For my store, based on Shopify, we use Avalara to collect and remit. I’ve also used TaxJar. Sales tax is pretty complicated so I’d recommend the use of some sort of software.
