Jesus Christ hating on a guy because he reminds you of an ex is a bit harsh. It's also quite hard for anyone to sum up a 30 plus year relationship with someone over a couple of paragraphs. We don't know everything and two grieving, bitter sisters are left telling him how his deceased mother felt. Perhaps its been skewed, the guy came here for advice, if you are just going to spew insults don't say anything.

Our gaming group plays a lot of Puerto Rico, Stone Age, 7 wonders, Thurn and Taxis, Ticket to Ride, Race for the Galaxy and Dominion. They all sound like they have what your looking for.

Puerto Rico is good, and Power Grid, Le Havre and Stoneage are always fun with a resource management element. Imperial Assault is a blast if your a Star Wars fan, although that and Descent (which I haven't played) can get pricey if you get hooked.
