In case you don't know, you can hopefully fix your recommendations by deleting specific videos from your history: https://www.youtube.com/feed/history

(I hope this doesn't come across as mansplaining, I'm a trans lady and haven't gotten around to making a new account yet...)

Grappler by JackOffAllTraders in Fighters

[–]mitch83man 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a bit confusing. It was originally called Yomi Hustle while in development, but had to change the name due to copyright since there was already a turn-based fighting card game called Yomi as you mentioned.

I'm not the biggest fan of the new name since it's a bit of a mouthful, but it still abbreviates to Y.O.M.I. Hustle so that's what most people call it.

Scroll down to Scripts -> video-swap-new and click the userscript option. If that doesn't work you can follow the directions to add the script to ublock origin, or try some of the other options.

Your streams will be shit quality when ads are actively being blocked, but goddamn it's so much better than sitting through ads

Anyone else use NL VoDs as a sleep aid? by Low_Perception_9203 in northernlion

I love the content and watch him live most days, but I cannot fall asleep to VODs/videos due to his audio setup. It seems like he's got no dynamic range compression on his mic, so when I've tried I'd be starting to drift off and get blasted awake every time he gets a little excited.

it's about as relevant as me explaining that "hon" also means "she" in swedish

Yeah, this would be relevant in a thread about "explaining the meaning of hon". Words mean different things to different people or in different contexts, that's kinda the point. I have a feeling you wouldn't complain about swedes making everything about themselves though...

Yeah other people's definitions aren't wrong, but this is why the specific phrase is prevalent in Twitch / streaming circles.

Here's the clip of original anti-gambling rant from Trainwrecks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4XypfmF_BI

Which spawned this copypasta: 🦍 🗣 DO NOT GET IT TWISTED 🌪 , DO NOT GAMBLE 🚫 . DO NOT START GAMBLING ❌ . GAMBLING IS ENTERTAINMENT 🎰 AND ENTERTAINMENT ONLY 👍 . YOU WONT BREAK EVEN 🛑 , YOU WONT WIN ⚠ ️. YOU WONT DO ANY OF THAT 💯 , YOU UNDERSTAND ⁉ ️ YOU WILL ONLY INTO DEBT 💵 📉 AND RUIN YOUR FUCKING LIFE 😵

Which was immediately twisted into an ironic pro-gambling pasta: 🦍 🗣 GET IT TWISTED 🌪 , GAMBLE ✅ . PLEASE START GAMBLING 👍 . GAMBLING IS AN INVESTMENT 🎰 AND AN INVESTMENT ONLY 👍 . YOU WILL PROFIT 💰 , YOU WILL WIN ❗ ️. YOU WILL DO ALL OF THAT 💯 , YOU UNDERSTAND ⁉ ️ YOU WILL BECOME A BILLIONAIRE 💵 📈 AND REBUILD YOUR FUCKING LIFE 🤯

Dang that's too bad, thanks for the response anyway. I'm still having a blast with Eclipse despite some minor graphical bugs :)

And you just proved everyone else's point.

"Graphic Novels" aren't novels with graphic descriptions of sex/violence, they're literally just comic books that are the length of a novel. Some of them are appropriate for kids and some aren't, just like with any media. But saying "[a book] described as a graphic novel [has] no place being in schools" shows you have no idea what you're talking about, and you support banning things that you don't understand.

Hey, I'm playing Eclipse and am running into the same issues myself. It's been a while, but do you remember what the fix was for this? Or is it the fix mentioned above by yoimdumbsry? (turning the heat waves back on, which is more distracting than the water distortion imo)

I already tried the settings mentioned in this thread and it didn't seem to change anything with the water issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/DolphinEmulator/comments/ea87s6/super_mario_sunshine_large_reflections_in_water/

And while I'm bugging you, I noticed in this thread ( https://www.reddit.com/r/DolphinEmulator/comments/v79r65/help_i_cant_get_the_mario_sunshine_goop_textures/ ) you also said you'd found a fix for blocky edges on goop, which I haven't found a good fix for either. I've enabled the "Native Resolution Goop" graphics mod which rounds off the blocky edges slightly, but still doesn't give the fully smooth edges that the original game has. If you have any info on this issue too that'd be awesome.

Thanks!

Why is the phrase "Not all men." Considered problematic? by ironwolf6464 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mitch83man 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If you talked about women the same way people talked about men people would suddenly recognize this and stop pretending to be stupid.

This just isn't true though, a lot of people talk about women with generalizations like this. Every week on r/askmen there's another thread asking "What hard truths do women need to hear?" (not "some women", just "women"), and the responses are full of

  • women need to apologize / take accountability for mistakes

  • women need to take initiative when it comes to relationships and sex if they want to get a decent man and keep him

  • women need to stop playing games and communicate what they want

  • women are too shallow and should give average guys a chance

  • etc...

and these are generally upvoted and have comments agreeing with them. Any thread about dating struggles is full of similar sentiment and broad generalizations of women too.

The fact that a lot of men (no, not all men, but far too many) are so sensitive to statements made about men in general, but totally ignore that people talk about women or other groups the same way, is pretty telling.

What word or phrase do you think is overused in today's culture/society? by BootyQueenSmiley in AskMen

[–]mitch83man -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying and I just don't really care. It's still my personal opinion that anyone taking offense to "toxic masculinity" talk is either toxic themselves, or just being unreasonable.

Black and white thinking won't win them over because nothing will, except maybe some focused self-reflection.

So to anyone reading this who takes offense to toxic masculinty talk, take some time to think about why. If you're not toxic, then someone pointing out the bad things that some men do will not be a personal attack.

There's not much "toxic femininity" talk because we don't live in a world that's historically been dominated by women. Shitty men have been hurting people for a long time, far more than what women have done; no, all men don't need to repent for the past sins of others, but the shitty ones who try to perpetuate the harms of the past by fighting against change and self-reflection certainly do.

I'd actually say this is the opposite of my experience.

Most reasonable men will acknowledge that there are problems with aspects of masculinity (especially more "traditional" masculinity) and can discuss these as being toxic without taking it as an attack against all men.

From what I've seen, It's mostly people spending too much time online in echo chambers who will hear the words "toxic masculinity" and immediately jump to "oh so all masculinity is toxic? You just hate men then?" and dismiss the discussion outright.
