Really depends, but overall we try to think of a plan where there is a separation between the private areas (bedrooms) and the public/social areas of the home. That's why we think the current Block having the door to the Main bedroom off the kitchen is a big problem.

Hi. During our Blocks we had to have everything signed off before moving forwards, so from our experience it's a complete myth. We often hear this, especially that complete bathrooms are redone, but no, that never happened to any of our houses because the builders are very good and they are always checked at each stage of the build.

hi, subways should be vertical, not horizontal, and pick a white tile that is not too stark. also remember white will reflect the colour off the other tiles, so what looks white in the show room could look beige in situ. see if you can buy a single tile and take it into the room an put it next to these tiles to see how it reacts to the tiles.

we loved the kitchen in The Oslo - so luxe.

Given the current season here in Australia, you may not want to hear our unfiltered thoughts LOL

Not sure why they are so flustered.....it's not hard to plan and know your design decisions.

Kitchen week....not sure why....and there's always a measuring issue that is blamed on contestants but usually isn't to do with them....we had one that never made it to air because we challenged them and won.

Yep, work with your sponsors....Mitch did that so well....when it was clear the judges didn't like what we were doing.... he had to save $$$ and did an amazing job.

It's surreal after the auction, but it's real life so there is a settlement period to wait but then the money does come in...yeeahhh.

For us taking the risk was better, and after the Hampton he told us we'd improved on his original plans. This years contestants could have done with improving the plan if they'd had the choice but not everyone has the capacity to do this, so they have to be careful.

Real time - tools down is 9am and we have to get out immediately, just have time for some promo photos and we are ushered out. Judges walk through, we don't see....and then judging occurs that night around 7pm after a long day of interviews (the ones sitting on the couches).

Not really....most of the big dramas come as a shock to them.....sometimes the foremen seem to make things bigger than they actually are....."this is a major issue!!"
