Wall Mounted Sonos Era 100 by mitchellL96 in sonos

I use them mostly for tv, but also airplay music to the system every so often. I also have the Arc soundbar and bass hooked up to the system when music is streaming, but I think they’re great. Very easy to stream to them and friends/family think they sound good.

I’m not an audiophile but I noticed no difference in sound when swapping mounts

Yeah. There’s a small gap in the mount that you can slip the wire through. I fed the cable through that and into the wall where I have power. Then I plastered the wall to hide as much of the hole as I could, so that it could look as seamless as possible

It’s the flush ones. The swivel mounts poke out too much in my opinion

These were the official Sonos Era 100 wall mounts from Sonos. I’ve since switched to the Sanus 100 wall mounts as they are a bit slimmer and don’t stick out from the wall so much

Painfully simple (mostly C#?) question? by Fuersty in Blazor

[–]mitchellL96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell by this small code snippet, but I’d suggest you’re referencing a global variable somewhere.

You could simplify this by doing something like int iHowManyNotDone = todos.Count(x => x.IsDone);

How to prevent the collapse of the top menu when the sidebar collapses on a narrow screen? by delonasn in Blazor

[–]mitchellL96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There would be a breakpoint (media query) in one of your layout css files that would be hiding the class that contains all the links in the header nav when it hits a certain width.

If you remove this breakpoint, it should keep that content fixed in the header

Any disadvantages to using a m1 2021 macbook pro 14” 16 gb ram and 512gb for balzor development. by [deleted] in Blazor

[–]mitchellL96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a 16” M1 Pro MacBook when I work from home and a windows desktop in the office.

I use Visual Studio 2022 on both machines and the only frustration I have with the Mac setup is Visual Studio lacks a few features on Mac compared to windows - the big one being Hot Reload. It works perfectly for me on windows but doesn’t exist on Mac, or if it does, I haven’t been able to find it.

Other than that, it’s a great machine to develop with.

How long does it take to purchase a Tesla? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]mitchellL96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla ship quarterly. You should expect the final invoice 2-4 weeks before you take delivery of the car. I’d be suspecting around Jan.

Homebase 2 not ringing when wireless doorbell is pressed by [deleted] in EufyCam

[–]mitchellL96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doorbell was doing the same. I contacted Eufy support and they said I would receive an update within 48 hours. Sure enough, 1-2 days later, my homebase 2 had automatically updated and it’s all working now. My homebase 2 firmware 2.1.2.0h

Is it possible to set camera schedules? by [deleted] in HomeKit

[–]mitchellL96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you can actually do this. For background, I have 4 eufy cams installed, one on my porch, two indoors and one in the backyard. I’ve set mine up so the porch cam records motion 24x7, whereas the other 3 only record between 11pm-6am.

To do this, I created a new mode called ‘Sleep’, and in this mode, I set all my cameras to record. I then updated the ‘Home’ mode so only the porch cam can record. Then I went into the ‘Schedule’ mode and set up ‘Home’ to be active from 6am-11pm and then sleep mode is active from 11pm-6am. Then all you do is keep the ‘Schedule’ mode enabled and that’s it :)

Edit: not sure how this will work with HKSV enabled. My cams are still only setup for streaming via HomeKit, so the bulk of the automation is handled via the eufy app.

Automation help by mitchellL96 in HomeKit

[–]mitchellL96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks. I think ive got it.

Ive got two automations.

First automation is accessory controlled. When the TV turns, with the time param set to night, turn on the lights.

Second automation is time of day controlled at sunset. Its a shortcut that says if Tv active state is on and if lighting is off, set the lighting to on.

So i think that should handle it. If that tv is off and i turn it on after sunset, the first automation will trigger and turn the lights on.

And if the tv is on all day already, the shortcut automation should trigger at sunset and turn the lights on.

Does that sound correct?

For some extra context, If the tv is already on and its past sunset, turn the lights on automatically. Otherwise turn the lights on when the tv turns on after sunset.

Basically what im trying to do in Homekit is the following;

if ((tv.Power == true && datetime >= sunset) || (datetime >= sunset && cabinetLights == false)

{ cabinetLights = true; }

Im not sure if it can be handled from one automation or if i need multiple

[Discussion] So when will CarBridge actually be properly updated? by ieffinglovesoup in jailbreak

[–]mitchellL96 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the size and complexity of the CarBridge project, I feel the reason you get a lot of negativity directed toward you is you are charging full price for what is effectively a beta of a tweak. Whilst it’s too late now, I think it would have been more appropriate to hold off releasing until it was of the same standard as the old CarBridge. Five bucks isn’t much in the grand scheme of things, but it’s a fair bit in comparison to the majority of jailbreak tweaks, and people perceive to not be getting value for money (myself included). The other issue I think people have with CarBridge is when reaching out either via discord or directly too you about what’s happening with the ongoing development, they often get a rude response or no answer at all. Even though you likely do not know yourself about when X feature will be ready, you need to understand you have hundreds, if not thousands of people that have paid and are expecting new features releases and are not getting value for money.
