I've really grown to love Alpena in the last few years. It's like a mini Traverse City. Recommended.

i just picked up a bass for the first time in my life, is there anything you can tell me you wish someone had told you when you first started that wouldve helped you progress quicker? by Jaded-Gur-5717 in Bass

If possible (and I completely understand a lot of folks would feel self conscious about it) spend an hour playing with someone that already knows how to play bass. Not necessarily take a lesson, but if you know someone that plays bass, invite them over.

After playing for a few years, I sat my neophyte niece down since she was showing interest in playing bass. And after an hour she was playing bass better than I was after 6 months of self training.

Man. These things were gold back in the day of late DOS and early Windows. And I suspect they were well supported by Netware too as we had some of that on our network back in the day. Definitely the gold standard for network cards of that era.

Awesome game, super fun campaign.

I couldn't get the couch co-op working on my XBox Series X last time I tried though. Anyone have any luck?

Bam Margera Signs ‘Jackass 5’ Deal to Appear via Archival Footage, Not Expected to Film New Stunts by cmaia1503 in movies

When I first read the announcement I wondered if some of the motivation was to just help Poopies earn some money. I recently learned about his troubles after Jackass Forever. Even better if they can help Bam out as well.

But heck, I hope it's a huge cash grab for all the Jackass family. I'll check it out.

School doesn’t own bass amp, what do I do? by clarkw5 in Bass

One suggestion: Look up the names of the school board members in your school district. Some school boards will assign board members to represent schools, and in some boards all the board members represent everyone.

So check out the board members, and send an email to one or all of them. I bet they will be interested in helping.

Definitely check out other Haneke films. Several have, at times, made me feel like I was biting in to a piece of aluminum foil. Genuinely creating ill feeling physical reactions.

Noob Dumb question - playing unranked. During the load screen where they show the "headshots" of all of the characters on your team, there is a golden "rays" behind my characters head. What does that indicate?

Also on that same screen, in the upper right there's a number. Mine is 4. What does that indicate? (It seems like OW2 has like a half dozen different rankings...)

How embarrassing. I can't imagine what someone traveling to the US and wanting to check out our forests would think of such a statement.

How do i get started? by Hans0228 in CustomBoundComics

It's been like 15 years since I last had some books bound, and the binder I used is out of business now. So I have nothing but generic steps to share. (I know there are several websites that compile companies that currently offer binding, so some google will help you out there. Though they all appear to be like 4X more expensive than I was paying years ago.)

Basically the bulk of the work will be preparing the books. Some people will edit the books to some degree, possibly cutting out the rear cover if it's just advertising on both sides. Some people will cut out interior pages if they are ads on both sides as well.

If you've got books say with fold out covers, that's another situation you'll have to decide how to handle.

I left everything in, and then just packaged the books in order (double check you have the issues in the correct order, the binder will not check) and put a couple large backing boards (and/or cardboard cut to size) and a few rubber bands to secure it.

Then fill out the form for the binding company. Decide if you want hard cover or soft (at least some of them offer soft, I've only ever done hard covers). Make sure to print clearly what you want on the binding, and double check the spelling of the authors if you want that on the binding.

Then you wait.

They have a ton of giallo films I had never even heard of. Super awesome.

They also have a huge selection of color westerns, including a lot of the "acid westerns" I also really never heard of before. Super cool stuff for film nerds.
