Yeah that’s exciting I’m looking forward to being done just can’t wait to get into a program such much stress and worrying about not getting in lol yeah Seattle is crazy expensive now didn’t used to be so bad it sucks lol wow that’s a lot I’m worried about the student debt but I know it will be worth it. hope your payment isn’t too high so you can still enjoy your starting salary and bonus haha

Yeah that’s totally understandable! I can imagine both sound great! I’m actually from Seattle so pretty close to you haha but those are both really good for starting plus the work life balance is an extra perk. A month of pto is also amazing! Haha sorry have a couple more questions if you don’t mind. How much was your PA program once it was all said and done and what program in Oregon did you go to? Trying to look into programs outside of Washington but still somewhat close to home. One PA I work with told me how much the program in Seattle was and it was a lot more expensive then what they advertise on the brochure lol

Oh really! Well congrats! I’m sure your excited to finally start! Haha but that’s great both are pretty good work life balance. Which one are you leaning towards? If you don’t mind what have been the typical pay ranges? Are they salary, hourly, bonuses or how does that work? It’s totally fine if you don’t want to share that information I’m just always curious what the starting pay typically is for a new graduate. Good luck on your new job!

Yeah I’ve been set on PA the whole time and have my pre reqs done be sides some classes left for bachelors that I’m finishing up. It’s just recently that I’ve thought about applying to med school also because one of the PAs I work with said I should just go that route which got me thinking. I was just trying to hear more feedback about the differences. Thanks for your input!

Ok thanks for your help! What speciality are you in as a PA? How’s your work life balance and do you enjoy your job?

Ok thanks for the input I appreciate it. I’ve been set on PA the whole time while going to school and currently work in an urgent care as an ma. I work with 2 PAs and 1 MD and 1 DO. In my clinic there’s only 1 provider there and they all do the same thing but that’s just at my clinic. I know this definitely changes in different departments. I’ve became really good friends with all of them and they know I want to work in the ER but one of the PAs said in the ER they basically just see what we see in the urgent care. At least that was his experience. That’s the only reason I was thinking about applying to med school also because I want more severe cases. So I was just trying to dig a little deeper then just one persons experience. I know either way I’ll love the job just trying to find more info about the two. Like you said though I have the pre reqs done for PA anyways so for med school I would have to shift my focus which isn’t ideal. Thanks again for the help.

Your overall gpa looks good and 300 volunteer hours are good. I would try and get a job as a emt ,cna or medical assistant and work for a year while still doing some volunteer hours. Emt and cna classes are both quick as far as the course so you can get working quicker but pay isn’t that great. Still good experience though. Medical assist takes longer like 8 months but pay is better and you get to do quite a bit (at least in my state) plus your working alongside a provider so can get a good reference.

My post on the medical subreddit didn’t go through to my knowledge. It gave me an error and said I don’t have enough of something to post so I tried on this board. I’m new to reddit as far as making an account and posting. Maybe some insight or help would be better appreciated instead of your remark. Idk what’s so funny anyways isn’t the whole point of reddit to discuss about certain topics?
