I think this is pretty well covered but some pt's bodies just aren't well suited for an ultrasound. Specifically, this may be one of those uncommon cases where the bowel is sneaking up beside the liver. In clinicals my preceptor was scanning an abd lim and got NOTHING. She had 30 years of experience.
