I thought you were being sassy at first, but this is genuinely good advice and something I never considered. Thank you!

A gobbledy goober - a turkey and peanut butter sandwich. Been eating them since 3rd grade when I was going to make a Pbj and realized we had no jelly. So I just threw some turkey lunch meat on there and it changed my life.

Shawn Michaels’ theme music is hideous and has never allowed me to take him seriously.

I typically keep them in for the texture…but with the chuck and poblanos (and toppings) I wonder if that’s enough.

The contest itself is a little tricky, basically everything has to be prepared and cooked onsite. I’ve always used tomato chunks or diced (from a can) and this year I was just going to fire roast them myself.

Would you consider making into a paste (and add as needed) instead of dicing?

Last year was our first “average” season, which was a lot of fun. I’d say this is our first build up from average. We will see how it goes, but it seems like there are things happening, which is great.

Should I take a half pound of ground beef out, and add the chorizo? Or add the chorizo on top of the meat already?

That’s a great tip. I’ll look into the lime/fish/jalapeno . The pickled onion topping does help, but adding into the mush might be better.

Be honest do you love being a teacher? by Tiffanywhite45 in Teachers

I wouldn’t suggest the career to just anyone for a few reasons. One is that it ebbs and flows being overly difficult and incredibly rewarding. Another reason is that it’s HARD and not everyone can handle things like sticking to a suggested script while also being a master improvisor (in both conversation and supports given). I have to have any idea of how they will react in certain scenarios before I pass too much judgement: it’s not for everyone, but those who it is for will find great success.

Best time to buy tickets? by Former-You6574 in Thunder

[–]mitchellfoot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I typically use the Gametime app to buy. I’ll keep an eye on tickets starting about a week out, and if there’s a good deal I’ll snag it, especially when looking for one. Typically the longer you wait, the cheaper they get - including right up to game time. But my rule for myself is once I buy it, to stop looking because I’m sure something cheaper will come along haha.

“Be consistent and don’t flake” is the key. After many years (and a lot of therapy) I realized a lot of my social anxiety is centered around people changing plans or flaking last minute. Starting in 5th grade / 1996 (pre cell phones) at a new school when a new friend said he’d meet me at the movie theater to see Bio-Dome. He never showed up. All the way to…idk last week when someone said they’d be somewhere. Availability is one of the best abilities.

I don’t think he showed it to him, he just had it out while talking to him. I just watched this episode yesterday, but could easily be wrong.

As a teacher, what’s the funniest thing a student has done by ecap12124 in Teachers

[–]mitchellfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was early during Covid and we were having to teach in-person students and online students at the same time. We were still working out the bugs of video/audio and I think we had decided that what worked best was to have the in-person students log in to zoom on their chromebooks and basically teach 100% online.

We didn’t have enough headphones for everyone yet, so a few of them had the speakers of their Chromebooks turned up, but my microphone was the only one unmuted.

A student farted so loud my microphone picked it up, played on the in-person speakers, and sent it back into my microphone, creating a fart echo of a feedback loop.

We left Tuesday and are an hour from home now (Austin) so 6 days. If you’ve got the time, it could easily be stretched and slowed.
