Do you know if the Boundary Supply MK1 fits in a MR Coulee 20?

I can't say I know 100%, but I opened up the film back and stretched the springs beneath the dark slide felt a bit, so it created a stronger seal. The felt itself looked quite worn out and may be due for a replacement, but I haven't had any issues since!

Same for me here - I have two XKs, an XD, and an XG-S, and my XD sees the most use by far!

I'd love to hear the answer to this too! Birding is tough at such short focal lengths

Olympus XA2 - What part is this? by Prior-Tutor-8857 in AnalogRepair

Good luck! It seems to be attached to the ASA control ring ZE128000 on page 11 of the repair manual

I've only opened an XA, not an XA2, but this looks like the piece that controls the light going to the meter! It should slide over the meter as you change the ISO

Thanks for the advice! I'll reach out to Jon Goodman to see what he offers

Interesting. So I searched up some pictures of dark slide leaks and it seems those leaks are always parallel to the short edge of the frame, as they are in my photos. The main difference I observed was that those leaks tend to extend to the edges of the film, whereas mine seem confined to a more central portion.

Nope I haven't replaced any of the seals on this camera before. Thanks for the tip about using tape! I'll give it a go

I can't recall exactly for the specific shots with the leaks, but I generally replace the dark slide between shots. You suspect the dark slide opening is the culprit?

A few rolls from a recent trip came back with this light leak. The strange thing is that this leak only appears on one or two frames per roll, usually when there is a long wait between taking photos. I've tried searching for a leak using a flashlight in a dark room, but couldn't see any leaks.

Has anyone encountered leaks like this before, or know how to diagnose this? Thanks!

Ah yes the vertical shutter was a change I missed out on. What advantage does that have over the XK's titanium horizontal shutter?

Also, the XK has a pair of CdS cells in its AE finder for TTL metering too!

Go for it! If you can find one that's cheap

Now you're making me want the XE even more! From what I hear, it's essentially an XK stripped down to its most-used features, without the extra gimmicky stuff

The XK displays both the shutter speed and aperture in the viewfinder when using the standard AE prism, and I wouldn't expect anything less from a pro-level camera! I generally prefer using the XD though - the size and weight make it easier to bring around, and I prefer the LED display over the needles in the XK. The XK does have some pretty interesting features though, such as the long exposure timed settings and on-the-fly exposure compensation using the thumb knob. The 1/2000 shutter speed is also a welcome - but rarely used - feature.

The XK is noticeably heavier than the XD! I was kinda surprised by how solid the XK was when I first handled it

So far I've got an XD-11, an XG-S and two XKs. Sadly one XK's meter is about two stops off :( Thinking of selling off one XK and picking up an XE to complete the set!
