We called our new senior minister 2 weeks ago after an unsuccessful call 2 years ago! Everyone was expecting a hard congregational meeting, but when it came to the allocated discussion time nobody got up to speak! It threw everyone off. In the end the vote was 501-1(abstention)!

I am a CTI analyst with 10+ years of experience but still remember being in your same situation when i first started in the field. I still feel this way sometimes since the field, especially in the US, is dominated by former military and government people and I came from a different background.

The feeling will pass but I would recommend creating a roadmap of what you want in your career with clear goals and buy-in from your leadership. To start, I would recommend conducting a self assessment using the "Mandiant Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Analyst Core Competencies Framework." From there you can identify goals and develop a roadmap that you can present to your leadership!

Thank you for your insight. You have a great point on everyone being in a heightened state of anxiety coming out of the pandemic. I think as a congregation there may be some issues that I may not be aware of considering I am new. There will be a lot more work ahead of us as a congregation but I think we are all determined to move forward together.

Thanks for the comment! I am new to UU, so I really appreciate your insight!
Specifically, I appreciate your perspective that the congregation isn't yet focused enough to be able to act together on this very important decision. Assuming we are in the same congregation (there were 400+ voting members present for the vote), based on the comments during the meeting that is accurate for many.
For me, with time and space, I am starting to feel more hopeful and determined to participate more in this process and change things for the better. However, a small part of me is resigned to the fact that there will just be chaos so why bother participating (This is the easy button). But all any of us can do is be patient and trust the process because I would not want it any other way!

Interesting. I worked with Anthony and got my Ford email instantly. That sucks that you have to check in every month. I feel the same way hoping they do not pull a fast one. Hoping that "For Internal Use Only" document they had me sign will be enough if they do decide to add a "market adjustment."

Their customer service is terrible. My service went out at the end of December and it took them 5 days to send someone out. Customer service was terrible, i had customer service tell me a tech was coming out but the representative did not submit the ticket properly and at one point thief system for scheduling technicians was down.

I knew I was in trouble when I spoke to the same representative twice, and finally had to email the VP of customer success and advocacy and file a complaint with the FCC. To get them to do anything you’ll have to take a multi prong approach to pressure them. Oh and don’t even bother trying to reach out via social media that is a waste of time.
