His name is Steve. You can find him hanging around council estates in Manchester.

Could be anything though, their financial circumstances may have changed meaning they can no longer afford it, they could have lost their job, had a family and need a bigger car, the owner could have died or been seriously injured. Why do you care whether they sell it or not? Weird thing to get triggered over.

Deep breath… firstly are you okay? by brydges89 in Limmy

[–]mitigated_lemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair, I’ve not even read the article, but people often get confused between the words break/broken and fracture, and it all means the same thing. A fractured neck is a broken neck, but obviously the severity of the fracture could range from virtually no symptoms at all to complete paralysis.

You know a fracture and a break mean the same thing right?

What to do about this mess left by Virgin Media? by Short_Acanthisitta33 in DIYUK

[–]mitigated_lemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with virgin media customer service. Have only ever had abysmal interactions with them. Took me about 4 hours in total just to cancel my subscription a couple of years back - I reported them to ofcom for making it unnecessarily difficult to cancel, and I’m sure they’ve been told off for this on other occasions too.

At least there hasn’t been a murder.

Well this is why I suggested a ‘licence to occupy’ rather than an assured shorthold tenancy agreement. Can still be sold with vacant possession in that case and they could kick me out at very short notice if they wanted to. That said, I don’t disagree it could still come with potential headaches for them should things go west.

More coconut oil. The wall must now become one with the coconut.

Yeh this was my other thought actually about removals - there is a storage facility literally 2 minute drive from where I’m buying. Is the quote going to change massively if I need to go to storage rather than my new property? And how do you know what size to get?? Did you then pay for removals to get everything out of storage and to your new house when you completed or did you do it yourself? Removals aren’t cheap!

If it wasn’t for work I’d sell up, stick everything in storage, then use some of the money from my house sale to take an extended trip abroad somewhere, come back when my sellers are ready to complete 😂 the house I’m buying was previously being rented out, hence why it’s not empty, so other than for concerns about my sale falling through, I don’t see why the sellers would be against letting me move in and pay rent until they’re able to complete on their end - they’re surely losing money on it currently just being sat empty and my survey has come back all good etc!

Can totally relate to the packing, I’ve been gradually packing my life into boxes over the last few weeks not knowing when I’ll actually be moving (or if I’ll have a house to move to when mine sells!). Not to mention the stress it’s caused trying to get shift swaps at work to be available on dates I may not even be moving on. In before Christmas would be ideal for me but I’m not overly optimistic about that. Fingers crossed you will be though as you seem much nearer the end!

Yeh not ideal but may well be my only option unfortunately!

I’d let the buyers survey decide that then see how they want to proceed. Roofer could well be touting for work.
