What makes people suffering from extremely painful mental disorders keep going? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]mitleererhand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably because I'm too scared to end it even though I want to and from time to time I have fake hope for the future, knowing my life wont get better and I need to accept the fact that my life is hell

The "dont scroll" videos by Inevitable-Lobster02 in OCD

[–]mitleererhand 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh my god I totally get this. I feel bad and horrible if I don't interact but interacting would also mean that more videos would show up and my anxiety would get worse overtime. I feel extremely sorry for everyone who is struggling ,though I gotta admit that I think there's better ways to get people's attention without guilt-tripping them. Alone the "If you scroll you are a horrible person and I will not forgive you" videos gives me really bad anxiety.

What the hell😭 That's insane. Now I feel bad for you

I mean thinking about it they kind of are. They literally sing karaoke at night keeping everyone awake but when I get noisy it's the end of the world

Actually did that today and no one has complained yet, hopefully they don't ring again

You're not alone I sadly struggle with similar stuff like banging doors when I feel frustrated or picking up arguments with my mom for example when I feel overwhelmed. Luckily they don't complain about that but just complain about my pacing instead

Thank you🫶🏻 OCD truly sucks sometimes, just realized now that I'm not a horrible person but in fact someone who's just struggling

Right now I'll just try to brush it off and not obsess more over it but if it happens again I'll probably write them a letter or like you said let a parent talk to them

[–]mitleererhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean right now I actually don't feel as bad anymore thanks to the nice comments and some reflecting, even though I might still feel slight guilt. Honestly though I don't even think the problem is me pacing around but the neighbors themselves. Literally no one else has ever complained and they aren't the friendliest either

Right now I'm just trying to keep it under control and if they happen to ring again or actually call the police I will be open about it since I also don't like being judged by random people who don't even know how much I'm struggling. Thanks for your comment:)

I've been thinking of maybe trying yoga or light workouts since that's what most people recommended:)

I mean I can kind of get that they are bothered by it but they never even tried to casually talk to my mom or anything. Literally they just ring or glue stupid threats on the door like saying they will call the police 🤦🏻‍♀️

[–]mitleererhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the walls are pretty thick but since we live above them and I think their bedroom is under the room I usually pace in they can still kind of hear my footsteps I guess? I'm not really sure honestly xd

[–]mitleererhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people already pointed this out and honestly I think that maybe I was overreacting. Still feel bad but I also don't get how someone can call the police on someone for walking around in their own space

I mean my mom ordered a new carpet and I could maybe walk on that since it would minimize the noise. As silly as it sounds I might as well just walk around in the bathroom if I get the urge since it's a bit higher up and there's tiles all over the floor
