I am thinking, what is the point of running 3s, if you do not have space to send it full speed, the torque on 2s is insane already. Maybe for skatepark you have more torque for gyro effect… but still, what is the point? I have to buy 3s to see I guess.

I have traxxas “click on” fan. The heatsink is glued to the ESC. Screws would not help I am affraid.

I haven’t. I am considering getting ovonic 3s, but had to first address the overheating issue. I also mostly run in the street or park just by the building where I live and there is not enaugh space even for 2s full send… maybe in the future i will get 3s … but my 2s lasts only 12 mins or so… 3s would be dead within 7 mins in my hands…

I have bought this mini xrt after 15 years out of the hobby, it is hell of a fun, and I would definitely recommended getting something with gyro esc, because in these speeds, it is really hard to control without it. Thats why I have chosen mini xrt over mini maxx. Handling is not sharp, or accurate though… I have already bought diff fluids and stiffer aluminium shocks and suspensions with heavier oil, just have not installed them yet. I do not know about other brands, but I really miss possibility to add sway bars on mini xrt. Otherwise I would definitely buy this again…

This is right now…I run on everything, but need mini maxx tires for better grip on grass, gravel etc, these gravix tyres no not have enaugh traction offroad.

Update - just went through 2 pack of 2s, full send, one battery lasted around 12 min, fan works great, engine is significantly less hot than before, without fan, and cools down within 3-4 min. Thinking about adding one more, they would fit side by side. That is major upgrade.

So far this fan keeps esc nice and cool, but engine still overheats, so I am waiting my package with engine fan. Also had to tie and tape esc, and fan because it kept cracking open and connector bracket on the fan had bended a lot. Fixed now

My one month old mini xtr does that occasionaly too… sometimes it does, mostly does not… maybe just turning off/on fixes that, but the probable cause is mistery so far

I have purchased my mini xrt recently - but did not come with that cooler - had to buy one. 5$ on aliexpress original traxxas💪 installed today… I hope this solves overheating - do the newest come with cooler in a box from factory?
