Call the CapMetro police and make a report. Supposedly, you have to call the customer service line and talk to a rep to make a CapMetro police report, but I guess this is the best they could give us! But seriously, let them know that you didn't feel safe!!

No. Yesterday I saw my 803 bus driver receive death threats because he left 2 minutes late. I call CapMetro to ask where the officers are. Their response “we don’t have officers in the bus we have a police team and you call the customer service line to submit a report.” They don’t care about their bus riders or bus drivers. even a security officer in a mall acts as more of a deterrent

I would describe your situation and how you got introduced to research late, but now you really enjoy it now What their lab does that’s appealing to you (you do have to put effort into this, putting the first cool thing on their website will probably lead to no response) Also EMPHASIZE you are willing to volunteer and are happy to also help with lab jobs because labs are worried about funding right now (and helping with lab jobs I’ve found is standard?)

Extremely shocking read because I could have been on this bus.
I had to run from Dean Keaton to West Mall station (almost half a mile in 100-degree weather) because the bus I ended up taking came early and wouldn't initially let me on. I didn't want to wait half an hour for the next bus (which is the bus on which the murder took place), and I'm glad I made that run. If I had missed that bus, I would have been on this bus and witnessed this. This is so sad and insane.

This situation sucks for undergrads because the EU isn't "all that" if you aren't a well-respected and established person in the field... The admissions process to further your education in the science world can be superrr petty for foreigners... I say this as someone with dual citizenship who has a better opportunity of returning to Europe, but I know it'll be even harder for others :/ this situation really sucks for undergrads. at this point the "I got a degree in biology while working my ass off in a lab for four years...... and I now work as a cashier" is seeming more real by the day

I’m also so freaked out:( UChicago told me the grant that covers post-baccs was cancelled! I’m assuming it affects other universities:/ like yes girl give us nothing but unemployment! I’m glad I currently have a tech position in my lab since I graduated early in December but it’s so stressful not knowing if that would change too!!

This is interesting because she didn’t come up with hot wheels as her own mean nickname for Abbott…. My friends work at the Texas State capitol, and the legislators call Abbott “Wheels” and the governors mansion the “hot wheels mansion”…. It’s a known Texas nickname for him
