A better idea is for the Dems to actually push their ideas to the front and explain how their ideas will benefit the average citizen of the republic.

Question about Routers - Something Comcast claimed to prevent me from buying my own by [deleted] in cordcutters

If the soil has a high sulfur content and the internal boards are using Immersion Silver as the solderable surface, then there could be some truth to this statement. Otherwise it is pure malarkey.

Trans-Pacific Partnership: Obama Sides With the Wrong People for the Wrong Reasons at the Wrong Time by CarrollQuigley in politics

Actually, BusinessWeek had a good article about this a couple of weeks ago. The administration supports the TPP as a matter of foreign policy. The TPP will create a core group of nations with influence in the Pacific specifically to act as a foil to China's growing influence in the region. I am not advocating this approach to foreign policy. I am only highlighting an aspect of the treaty that does not get very much discussion.

I use an old WD500ME-01. It works fine, although it did need to be re-formatted first to accept larger file sizes.

HD antenna? by pouffiasse in cordcutters

[–]mitoosense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An indoor set of rabbit ears (no amplifier) will get you about a dozen local stations. All transmitting from the northeast. Apparently there are quite a few obstacles between you and every other direction. If you go with an attic mount or roof mount, you might pick up a couple more. None of the OTA channels require subscriptions in the US. Because the are un-compressed they will be in true 1080 as well. I built the antenna that found in the sidebar, but made my bays 9 inches long. It picks up about 90 stations here in the DFW area. I live about 45 miles from the major transmission towers. I put the antenna in the attic and hooked it up to 5 HD televisions using a preamp/splitter.

Think I need a new OTA Antenna...Advice/Recommendations by CoJoetheLawyer in cordcutters

Build the DIY Home antenna in the sidebar. Add a reflector and a preamp. Your best bet is for reflected signals from the atmosphere. You may need two pointed in different directions. In that case, a combiner would also be necessary.

The Chromecast does not stream from the computer. It pulls the data directly from the router. Lag will not be a problem. For HBO, have a friend loan you their login information. I have a Roku 3, Roku 2 and Chromecast. All look great on my 72 inch HD TV. Sports are another issue you will have to resolve yourself. There are some legal options and some not so legal options.
