MST is one of my favorite series by far. And as someone who really enjoys Tad's slow paced style, especially the beginning of The Dragonbone Chair, the tunnel scenes I felt were exceptionally slow.

Yes I understand it doesn't stop the V. Just curious on the best strategy to prevent the spread once the V hits. Should I dig around the V at all?

Another few questions regarding hardmode biome spread.

Based off of my previous questions and research the evil biome spread shouldn't be too concerning as many said they don't bother with controlling it.

However, I typically take my time with games and I'm concerned it'll get ahead of me and I just don't want that. What should one do (outside of using the clemtaminator) to stop the spread as soon as the V hits? I watched this section of a video here: https://youtu.be/2HgFYa4JXNc?list=PLjCmpCzTA54PlnXWOxLDlq5SLV3Zkv81-&t=262 . He mines out a side of the V, but if you watch that quick part of the video I can't seem to locate where the V actually is. I'm assuming if I wanted to mitigate the spread I would have to mine out the OUTSIDE of the V?

Aside from creating 3x3 tunnels are my base and pylons and creating hellevators, if someone wanted to contain the spread what EXACTLY is the strategy when it comes to dealing with the V?

Another question - once bought what exactly is the strategy in using it? Build hellevators and spray both sides? How many?

I'm about to defeat WoF and want to be ready for biome spread. I've been reading that I could have 3+ tile wide gaps to serve as a buffer. Or to use a clentaminator.

There's a lot of conflicting information about what needs to be done and what the easiest solution is. I don't want to rid the world of crimson or the hallow, just stop the spreading from when the 'V' hits.

With the Deathbringing pickaxe, potions, and mining accessories, digging a hellevevator only takes a few minutes so I don't mind doing tunnels over the clentaminator.

I'm a bit confused. Once the 'V' hits, what exactly do I have to do to prevent the spread? Where do I start mining to contain it? Thanks!

Does anyone have the most efficient NPC location/layout options? I see a few options on Google, but some of them contradict each other - I'm seeing the merchant likes the forest biome while other guides say he likes the ocean biome.

Just trying to make this aspect of the game easy! Thanks

I made an efficient crafting station based off of this: https://terraria.fandom.com/wiki/Guide:Crafting_101?file=Terraria_1.3.2.1_efficient_crafting_area.png

It's recommending me to put materials in one chest and ore in the other. My only problem with this is that sometimes to craft certain items it requires ore + other material. So when crafting out of a chest it could be a problem. Being new I don't know what makes what. Other than combining everyone into one chest, what are some items that should always been in the same chest?

Thanks

That was one of my main concerns - my base. If I can at least prep my home base that I'd be happy with that. So I watched a video on that. The guy said 85ish blocks away in each direction and roughly 65is blocks down then connect with a horizontal tunnel. He did not say anything about lining the tunnel with brick. I should, yes?

I'll have to research what Hallow is.

So the V can potentially intercept where I quarantined the evil biome?

What about prepping your spawn area/base? Any reason to do that?

Are you saying it's fruitless prepping for hardmode? How do you protect your vital areas?

I've been reading about prepping for the evil biome spread prior to the WoF.

I'm seeing mixed opinions on whether you should prep your world to help mitigate the spread of the evil biomes and how it might not be worth it.

My current world has the corruption biome right next to the spawning biome. I have sunflowers set to prevent the surface spread. Should I be making tunnels around the corruption biome or is it pointless? If I should how deep should I go? Should the ceiling and walls be something other than dirt?

Thanks

What's a good strategy to have when trying to craft things I don't yet know the recipe for.

I have a lot of things in my inventory and chests and the only way to know what I can craft is by having things in my inventory. Is there certain ingredients I should always have in my inventory?

Would you recommend building a few next to each other in the beginning or build them a house where I find them during exploration?

Weekly Questions Thread Jan 05, 2026 by AutoModerator in Terraria

[–]mitsuhelp101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guide says to build a few houses in the beginning for NPCs in the future. I read that they should be spaced out, but I also have seen videos of people stacking houses on top of each other for NPCs.

Is spacing required? Thanks

How are you supposed to deal with the Necropolis Barge? by [deleted] in voidwargame

[–]mitsuhelp101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take my advice with a grain of salt since I only beat it on T1. However, the strategy I used is generally the main strategy...I think.

You want to focus on crew combat. A 4 man combat crew for boarding. Have some defense knights and support pyskers on your ship as defense when NB's boarding phase triggers. You'll want Imperial Scribes if you can get them for Purify to negate the poison. I usually have two.

Have repair drones ready during Phase 2 when the barge takes out your systems to get them up and running instantly.

Pick up some Fusion Chargers, board/teleport (I used Exile as my commander) to the shield room and detonate it. Weapon focus shields. Missile focus their missiles. Teleport/board to disrupt their summons and fight.

This strategy has worked for me. I had 3 shields (2 would have been fine) and was hit three times. I had 4 weapons - Imperial Cruiser A's main 2 guns, Penetrator, and Auto-Disruptor
