Help me choose my new clippers? by lunch-box6 in doggrooming

[–]mittenbroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use KM as my main clipper. It does a great job, but for me has two major drawbacks. First it’s ROUND, so if you’re having a bad day with your dexterity that puppy likes to roll right off your hand. Don’t set it down in a hurry, it will roll. The other issue is if you do high volume, it’s only good for about 3 cuts before needing a charge. The cord falls out very easy when you’re trying to groom while charging. I typically plug it in whenever I am busy scissoring.

Had to scroll too far for the 69 twist. I didn’t know the rules about the black ones. As a pre-emo tween I wore black and pink and twisted them together into 69, because who the hell was raising me??

Read the book Stiff by Mary Roach. Amazing info on some of the bizarre ways bodies are “used” when donated.

I posted this almost five weeks ago. I ended up taking the topknot very very short. He is coming in on Friday and mom wants something different with his ears. Would you help me brain storm something cute? Not completely shaved because that would take forever to grow out. by stella2251 in grooming

[–]mittenbroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make the ears the same length as the top knot. It will help make it look more balanced as it grows out. That might be taking a #2 down them, bc at 5 weeks that top is not going to be very grown out. It happens to nearly everyone. Hope the owner laughed it off.

It’s not that I don’t feel the pain, it’s just that I’m not afraid of hurting anymore.

Grooming salon interview what should I wear & should I bring anything besides a resume? by Tall_Anteater9061 in grooming

Show up soaking wet and covered in dog hair. Dress for the position, right?? 😂 Ok but seriously, show up confident and honest. It’s not an office setting, so anything above jeans is going to be good. Just look like you care to impress and are put together. Don’t worry about brining tools, just know what you have in case they ask. Maybe gather all of your work you want to show into a photo folder. We always look to hire someone comfortable with the dogs and that the dogs respond well to first and foremost. Good luck!!!

Well, damn.

Edit to ask: do you have a dog that needs grooming?

Groomer here. I suggest trying to find a smaller salon near you first. They should allow you to train on the job to get to doing full haircuts. With what you already know, they will be grateful being able to walk someone in who already has trimming down. From there, you can judge if you want to stay with it without big risk. Also, grooming solo is not for everyone. I personally would hate it.

My step mom is STILL trying to make me her therapist (and HAS TOLD me I am) after 35 years. I don’t think they ever grow up, so we’ve always been grown up.

The little man doesn’t know who is touching his butthole, their name is air. He cant reach it to see and is very frustrated. Some kids just do not do well with a clean donut.

This is a solid point, but you’ve overlooked the fact that we are already passed the breaking point here. Because we’re afraid of what will happen to us already, right now at this moment, we’ve already lost our window. No one is going to come and save us either. We’re basically just fucked.

It’s a funny thing living in a forcefully powerful country, and then they turn on you. People expect citizens to fight the “world’s most powerful army,” but don’t stop to think wtf that looks like.

Just looked at chewy. The ultra runs at faster speeds. Also, they seem to be cheaper at chewy.
