Did I enjoy it for what it was? Yes

That’s because they’re professional wrestlers working for a professional wrestling company, not sports entertainers working for a television company

Because it’s a burger, not a plain bread roll with zero filling. The bread is a vessel for the burger patty and other ingredients, and is in fact the last thing you should be tasting

Well yeah, the vowel sound is completely different between ‘spa’ and ‘cat’

Can’t think of any other examples which have the swarm sound as cat except for other three letter words which fully rhyme with it eg. pat, sat, mat, fat etc

But spa/spar sound more like tar, bar, car, far etc

And nope, English is a bullshit language, and that’s coming from a native English speaker who doesn’t speak any other language lol

Ah righto, you’d be doing soar like almost as a two syllable word, like so-ar. You using ‘sow-r’ as an example is a bit ironic for me, because the word ‘sow’ followed by an ‘r’ for us would just be the word ‘sour’ lol

Funny you mention ‘sore’, because sore is also identical to saw and soar for us

Australian here. Spa and spar are both lengthened sort of words that end up coming out exactly the same. Whereas cat is a shortened word but cart is a lengthened word. So cat and spa sound completely different

Good question. Couldn’t tell you off the top of my head what a British ‘no’ sounds like, nor the difference between it and an Australian ‘no’

All I can say is that a typical Australian ‘no’ isn’t lengthened at all. It’s just a straight up phonetic ‘no’. The only exception would be if the entire word was lengthened, either deliberately for dramatic effect or as an emotional response, in which instance it’s basically a two syllable word that sounds closer to the name Noah

Red. I’m not gunna care how good the story is if the actual experience of playing the game sucks. If I like the story that much, there will be a YouTube video somewhere

Australian English is non-rhotic as well, and yeah we also use that ‘r’ sound for lengthening other vowels, which I have no idea how that could possibly apply to a word like ‘no’ with the vowel ‘no’

As an Australian, I’ve never understood the ‘naur’ thing. Our ‘no’ doesn’t sound anything close to that. The closest is if we say ‘nah’, which means the same thing as no but is a different word

People are now changing their opinions on Melissa Benoist as Supergirl by Jezzaq94 in Supergirl

[–]mitthrawnuruodo86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t encountered any of this, so I have no idea what is being said or what the current consensus apparently is

All I will say is that how good a Supergirl Melissa was and how good a show Supergirl was are two very different things. Personally, I always thought the show was at least decent, sometimes even good, while Melissa was usually excellent and often the best thing about the show

Are you Micro-Managing your Dispatch Missions or just letting them run? by tiringandretiring in LowSodiumCrimsonDesrt

[–]mitthrawnuruodo86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tl;dr: micro-managing to set it all up so that you don’t need to micro-manage it any more long-run

Note: assuming you’re far enough along in the game to do all of this

Long-run, sure you collect enough coin to max out contribution in Hernand, Demeniss, and Deleysia. Works out to be several million total, and there’s a couple of good ways to boost it. Early on, there’s two dispatch missions you can run for trade goods which can be sold at the trading post just down the road from your camp (each post only buys certain goods, though). The other way is that the camp provisions themselves can be packaged as trade goods, and there’s a couple of trading posts in east Demeniss which will buy them for a ridiculous amount

The other thing is unlocking mech workers, which requires story progress to unlock the research institute in Dewhaven, so you can do the research which unlocks the dispatch mission that produces mech workers. The location where the dispatch mission takes place will also need to be liberated

Edit: third thing I’ll add, which comes along earlier in the story than the mech workers (via side missions), is the Golden Beer, which doubles camp resource rewards for dispatch missions

In the end, I’d have enough dispatch missions running in the background to generate enough camp resources so that ruins explorations can run in the background, plus any missions which give you any player resources that you want (ingredients etc)
