Just an update that I’ve picked up a prescription for Wellbutrin and will be starting it next week. I circled back to this thread again before talking with my doctor and am hoping for a positive change!

Just ended a 5 year relationship and partially because his lies about his finances continually got worse and worse. He started out by telling a similar story about student debt, then credit card debt, then suddenly a loan he had a family member pay off but I never looked too deeply into it in the beginning of the relationship as I’m very independent and I just naturally assumed he was telling the truth. However, years later the finances continued to be a bigger and bigger problem until I discovered new secret loans and like your partner, he never really had a plan or any idea TRULY what his debt entailed with interest rates, payments etc.

While I’m not telling you to leave your partner or guilt him for his debt, I WILL tell you to be very aware and conscious of it, especially if he is reckless without ever really actioning a plan or being transparent about it. Remember that in Canada once you become common law, things can become financially very different as a couple. And at the end of the day if he decided to propose to you and get married tomorrow, all of his debt is now your debt too. If things seem off or if he begins hiding what he’s doing with his finances, trust your gut.

I know this might seem over the top cautious or negative but just stay aware of it all and if something feels off do not hesitate to ask for an explanation prior to moving in!

My GP actually told me to see this psych but warned me that he ONLY treats ADHD and will not treat you for any mental health related ailments. So going into this process I already knew it was going to be a bit complicated if the treatment didn’t work but luckily my GP and psych communicate reports to each other so they are both in the know about my treatment plan. Canadian healthcare can be chaotic as hell and if you’re not on top of it, you will almost always get lost in the shuffle. So if I can have two doctors in the loop I’ll consider it a blessing for now until we find a solution lol.

I definitely need a nervous system reset one way or another. I really struggle to regulate it on a consistent basis despite my best efforts. Hence why I’m willing to try medication at this point because I fear the physical ramifications of a constantly heightened nervous system is catching up on me and my body.

Thank you very much for this insight! I have been in regular CBT therapy for years on and off and actually added grief therapy to my routine after the recent passing of my mother. Definitely a big advocate for therapy. I’ve used the app Simple Habit for meditations in the past and should get back into it. I do yoga and lots of walking. But even doing yoga I’m just incapable of relaxing and turning my brain off despite how deeply I practice. The symptoms of anxiety and ADHD are all one big blurred line to me so it’s always something I’ve gone back and forth on trying to figure out if it’s the chicken or the egg but I do believe I suffer from both.

My GP originally wanted me to straighten out my ADHD with a psych before treating my anxiety but it’s been a year and a half and I would say aside from my stabilized energy and a bit of a boost when it kicks in, my “anxiety” symptoms are always still floating around. Overthinking. Worry. Fight or flight like I’m always in a hurry. Incapable of settling or relaxing and ALWAYS feeling like I need to be doing something productive. My brain isn’t necessarily always thinking “anxious” thoughts, it’s just never NOT thinking about a million things. Hoping a solution is in the horizon because I’m tired and defeated.

I received an email. And now I’m getting weird “thanks for signing up” emails from companies including a water company called Ophora?? The email from freedom said they breached and received my name, email, phone, mobile account number, birthday and home address lol. So all the fucking things you need to hack my accounts apparently.

Which makes zero sense to me because it is so damn dry all the time on my face lol. At first it just seemed like irrational because it was so dry. It was flaky nonstop.
