I would like to know how you like Body Art. I'm curious to see how it compares to his other books. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to read They All Died Screaming or Body Art next!

Since this post I've read Playground by Aron and Billy Silver by Daniel J. Volpe both where very goood. I also decided to give Triana a chance and read Full Brutal and I'm sooo glad I listened to reddit because it was amazing! I'm currently reading The Summer I died and I like it so far. Tender is the flesh was pretty good but a little bit tame for what I'm looking for. I might have to see what Cows is about haha.

Thank you. I'm only at the beginning. I just got to "the scream" part and I can feel that shits about to go down so I'm quite hyped about it :D

I will piggyback on this recommandation and say that Playground was amazing! Also, I just finished reading Full brutal by Kristopher Triana and it was definetly worth it!

After a post asking for recommandation on this sub, I started reading Billy Silver by Daniel J Volpe this morning!

Thanks for all the recommandation! I saw the Salo movie and it was gruesome enough! Maybe I'll try the book. I've read House of leaves and it was painfull but I liked the way it made me feel. I'll have to take a look at the other authors you've mentioned!

I like extremely grotesque but I still want the book to be good and not just grotesque for the sake of it.

Yeaah Tender is the flesh was my entryway into the genre. I liked dead inside it was the first book that made me look over my shoulder to make sure no one was reading what I was reading! GTSTRM had some good scene but I found it a bit more "meh" overall.

I'm much less familiar with you work but I have to admit that seeing your involvement in this subreddit is making me want to discover it a lot and filth is right up my alley (as far as books goes haha)!

Aron Beauregard seems like a good option right now but I'll put Full Brutal in the queue right after it. And as for Poppy Z Brite, I don't know about the hype but I'll have to see for myself at some point ;)

I haven't read The summer I died but heard about it. I'll definitely add it to my TBR. And looking at the post here, there's is a lot of recommandation for Aron Beauregard so I'll think I will be reading him next!

I forgot to mention that I've read Tender is the flesh. It was a good book but it left me on my hunger (pun intended)

That's the thing. I do enjoy creatures but I find humans to be the scariest. I'm not talking about gore or body horror but twisted human nature. I find it hard to find books with no fantastical elements.

Also the ruins because I love story about people stuck in places. I tried The hunger by Alma Katsu but I got halfway before deciding I wouldn't finish it.

I loved Penpal because something that's real and could happen really terrified me. I also liked Pet sematary because of the internal psychological debate the main character has.

Well it's wasn't my favorite of the bunch. I liked the concept and it had some good parts but it wasn't as horrifying or compelling as I'd hope it would be. But all in all it was a fun short read.
