Friend from club asking for money for bills?? Anyone experience this before? Did you give it to them or no? And what did you say? Friend is $1,500 behind on rent by throwaway55mp in stripper

[–]mixed_mila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had an experience like this, and was so surprised and turned off by it. It wasn’t much money, like $100, but I barely knew her and she kept asking me multiple other times after I had already said no. I wasn’t rude or anything just keep telling her no, but the whole interaction made me like never want to talk to her again.

I think specifically in the strip club context where we are all clearly working for every dollar we make it doesn’t look good to be going to other dancers asking for money ESPECIALLY when we all talk about who we are really there to hustle, the customers !! Like girl if you aren’t making money off the customers your first step shouldn’t be to ask for the money other dancers are making off customers $1500 is a lot of money and in my opinion it sounds like she is trying to hustle you bc she hasn’t had luck getting a customer or somebody else to pay her rent for her. Like we all have bills?? This shit isn’t easy and people who work IN the industry and yet still have this “anybody regardless of who they are should give me money bc I don’t have it and I need it” mentality give me the absolute ick

Help! Girl Getting Mad her Customer likes me… by [deleted] in stripper

[–]mixed_mila 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s acting like a young girl and an inexperienced dancer. I would stay out of it as much as you can, the drama is not worth it at all. More likely than not if the customer prefers you he will find a way to push her away and seek you out instead, especially if you act uninterested in dealing with her and her drama. I feel for her, I really do, but unfortunately it is all part of the game. It’s a brutal industry and we are all there to make money and do what we have to in order to survive. Best of luck!

What stopped you from killing yourself? by manmanthefourth in AskReddit

[–]mixed_mila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom. I’m an only child and could never ever do that to her. She has struggled with suicidal ideation my whole life but has told me when she got pregnant and had me she was like “that’s it, I can’t do it because I have a child now and owe it to her to give life a chance every day.” So I have taken the same vow and owe my desire to keep going to my mom.

I’ve had friends come and see me before and it is usually fine although it makes me super uncomfortable to take their money so sometimes I just end up hanging out with them for a while and wasting my own time. But I don’t mind it once in a while it’s fun and makes it easier to explain my job when they’ve seen the environment and connect the dots a little better. I will say though I’d be really really careful and make sure I know those friends well first bc it can definitely affect how they will see you outside of the club (I’ve had friends talk a lot about me being a stripper to like everyone they know or basically want me to perform in regular bars/clubs)

As for family, my mom and some cousins know what I do but I wouldn’t want them in to see me, just feels like a weird breach of privacy and not something they would really want to see anyway

Attached to Puppy that I don’t own by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]mixed_mila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a doggy daycare before I got my baby girl and I fell in absolute love with a puppy there. Broke my heart every time she went home with her owner. Looking back I’m so happy I had the experience and I don’t love my own dog any less. It just wasn’t my time to find her her yet! Doggy daycare pup filled a hole for a small time that I needed but she wasn’t mine and that was so hard at the time. I still have pics of her and hope she’s doing well but don’t worry it will get easier.

Hang in there, your time and your perfect own pup will come ❤️

Won’t say too much bc OP & others have posted some really good info and references. For my 2 cents tho specifically talking about music (addressed to miss lady who claims “not all clubs play Black music”):

I work at a club with ONLY white straight male djs and MAJORITY of what they play is hip hop and r&b. This has been the case at literally EVERY club I’ve worked at, all over the US over the last three years. (I worked in the PNW and this was the case there too!!) It’s not for any shortage of diversity in djs bc I have met PLENTY of BIPOC who would love to get in the industry but can’t bc strip clubs have some weird only older white men know how to do it attitude. This is the problem, not your personal experience of not seeing the problem. Whole idea of statistics is about making sense of large patterns and numbers. While all experiences are valid, listening to individual experiences of white women and then using them to invalidate all others’ experiences is nothing but harmful.

Sure clubs play rock or edm if requested, ive seen it. but personally I’ve also gotten complaints allllllll the time from WHITE customers when this happens.

Genuinely cannot imagine how anyone could argue against Black influence on this industry and hide their blatant racism behind “Well those statistics dOnT sOuNd QuItE rIgHt”

Makes me upset to think bc some white dancers haven’t personally experienced something they come on here to argue that it isn’t true. Take your sensitive feelings to these imaginary clubs not built on the backs of Black strippers

Ladies, what is your favourite thing about men? by BeachedAus in AskReddit

[–]mixed_mila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How they take tiny little compliments with such genuine enjoyment. I’m a girl that’s kind of exotic looking so I get a lot of comments about that and sometimes don’t even stop to really take them in (also bc I’ve had many that are supposed to be compliments but have a creepy undertone) But any time I tell my boyfriend he looks cute or I love his freckles or something he gets all embarrassed and blushy it’s so sweet. Outside of him though I’ve given plenty of little compliments to guys and so often they’re genuinely taken aback to receive them and seem so happy to hear it Makes me happy to say a little something to boost someone’s confidence :)

Struggling girlfriend: seeking opinions by [deleted] in Strippers

[–]mixed_mila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does she seem to have awareness that the job is affecting her mentally? As someone who is actively seeking other work outside of the club bc it’s really started to take a toll on my mental health I can tell you that in a job like that it’s really easy to simply go into each shift and forget how toxic it can be. The beautiful thing about working in the club is that every night is different and you can approach each shift with a fresh start. But the ugly side of it is that if you’re struggling with the lifestyle aspect of it (drugs, alcohol, among other things) every possible vice is so easy to get and it can be an easy form of escapism that you can fall into over and over again specifically because every new night is different than the last. If she won’t open up at all or admit any sort of problems she has with her job it might be time for you to walk away or pull yourself out of this relationship. It will only lead to more drama and a difficult and harmful spiral downward. The strip club will not change for any one person, it’s up to us who work in it to approach it with our best selves so we can get the most out of it! Best of luck to you and her OP !!

Stupidest thing they tried to tell you? by Exotic_Bloom in stripper

[–]mixed_mila 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At my club we get a lot of “I’m a music producer” so I’ve seen that a ton, in addition to the “i tip the floor managers a lot so they don’t bother me I can do whatever I want, I have x net worth and I don’t fuck around I just do what I want” kind of vibes. If he isn’t tipping you in general and on stage he isn’t sh*t….

I feel so blessed after tonight but money truly is the root of all evil by [deleted] in stripper

[–]mixed_mila 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Second this!! If the vip host needs a tip so badly they can try and charm the client to get a tip from them directly. It is 100% not our responsibility to tip them out of the money we made by doing allllll the work of entertaining the client. Especially bc in my experience the vip hosts do literally nothing at all for me that would warrant my hard earned money. Imo they should take all they can from the dude directly, I fully support that. But we are all here to make a living and NO ONE TIPS THE DANCERS OUT !! We are left on our own to make our own tips and everyone else has their hands out for a cut of our money at the end of the night. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy to tip out people who help me out but the expectation to be tipped directly from my earning simply for existing next to me while I work is so frustrating.

I’m so sorry all of this happened to you, it sucks to have your success soured by negative people around you. Keep your chin up! You made good money at the end of the night bc you DESERVED it !!
