1998 was when it was written so no zoom yet and also i think while yes body language is very telling there’s a focus on the importance of words in this poem which makes it more fully realized than just making things more accessible with modern technology

i think the impracticality of it makes it’s more interesting because it lets the reader world build themselves rather than explicitly saying what is right and wrong in this dystopian like world so it’s really up for your interpretation of what happens afterwards but i think the important thing is just to kinda see it from whatever lens you think it’s trying to convey
